I would imagine this is on here somewhere, but didn't know what word combination to use.

2022 Tundra Limited, V6 double turbo, no hybrid

I have realized when I come to a stop and put the transmission into park, the motor shuts off and then restarts. Why does it do this? And how can I shut that off?

I have been in and playing with some of the controls and don't recall seeing anything like this.

    Thanks in advance.

Look in your owners manual about the auto start/stop function.

Mine does the same. Just don't push your brake past the threshold and it won't activate the engine stop.

Or just press the start/stop off button on the left and it won't activate at all on that drive, no matter how hard you push the brake.

I will do that soon, but this is not when at a stop light. It doesn't shut off then, its when I go into park and then it starts right back up.

    Thanks for your input,
    Mike

I just went out and tested this function. I wasn't pressing the brake hard enough for it to shut the motor off. And I must have been pressing harder on the brake when I was planning to go into park and that would cause the motor to auto shut off.
    Absolutely...

And I realize I must be pressing the brake pedal hard enough when I am preparing to go into park. Funny things we realize we do in situations that are not intended.
