We are the most American truck. Anyone that thinks a Ridgeline is a truck isn’t qualified to be at the bar.

Last year we were the most-American full size truck as the Ranger was #1.

Ah Idk I've always seen the ridgeline as a vehicle for someone who wants a honda pilot, but would also kind of like to have a bed for times they need it. My fiance has a pilot and it is a beast in the snow and going through rough terrain with the AWD system. I'm not gonna knock someone for getting a ridgeline as it's definitely a capable vehicle and if you don't need a true 1/2 ton it's a great option.

American or not, mine is getting a taste of German ingenuity, will be maintained like expensive Italian apparel, runs like a Swiss watch, and will be working for many years like it resides in a Chinese sweat shop.

Sorry the ridgeline is a useful vehicle for some, but it is not a truck. Interesting read. Disgusting that ford, gm, and Chrysler have invested so much in building plants around the world to import their cars to USA. Totally disgusting. The parts should all be made here, then assembled here.

Traded in our 08 Pilot for my wife’s new car. It was awesome in the snow and comfortable to drive. Overall very reliable. Almost bought a Ridegeline at the time as the original style was not too bad. Current Ridgeline is horrible looking.

I don’t have a problem with the Ridgeline. It fits a small market and is perfect for urban people that just need to carry small oversize things occasionally or make trips to the dump. I just don’t think it qualifies as a truck being a unibody.

I bought a new 2012 Ridgeline, and traded it on my 2020 Tundra. Having owned it for 8 years I have to say it was overall a great vehicle. The main gripe for me was the shallow box, couldn't fit most coolers under the bakflip cover. The in bed trunk was great, and the all wheel drive was super in snow.

Surprisingly it towed my 18' boat better than my previous 1994 K1500 Silverado with 5.7L did, although probably due to the 3.42 gears. Then when unplanned circumstances had me buy a 20' boat with a 5.0 V8, the additional weight helped with the decision to trade for the Tundra.

All in all the Tundra is in every respect a much more enjoyable vehicle (except fuel economy) to own.

My grandfather's 1985 Ram towed better than his 1993 K1500 but that may have been due to the tires he had on each one.

I don’t think folks should critique a Ridgeline unless they owned one. I love my Tundra but my previous truck was a first gen Ridgeline. I put 270k miles on it Over 10 years with no major repairs. About 150k pulling a trailer all over the country. Plus had many years using as a truck with heavy loads being hauled all over the place.

My 2008 Ridgeline would eat up the snow because it was heavy in the front and AWD. Other than that, I really liked the compartment in the bed.

If I didn't need a full size, I'd probably be in a Ridgeline. I don't like the seating position of the Tacoma (haven't tried driving one on public roads) and the other options aren't reliable enough for me.

I know some people that drive BMW and Lexus SUVs and call them trucks..:eek2:

    Side note on American made:
    Wife has been car shopping.
Had her eye on a Buick Sport Enclave.
We went and looked at one.
Sticker read it 94% made in China..
She said ef' that and we walked...
And the kicker, it had an American flag sticker in the corner of the windshield..

    Good point. unibody≠truck

Other may disagree, but calling an LX or GX a truck is valid. Body-on-Frame=Truck

Then again a guy I know only considers a 1-ton, 4x4, diesel, long bed to be truck. To him anything else is a car lol

My mom was always so anti-truck when I was growing up then my parents got a Suzuki Grand Vitara and now she's so proud she drives a "truck".

I guess everyone can have their own definition of what’s a truck. Saying a truck can only sit on a frame is no different from those who say a truck must have a 5th wheel.

Technically we have pickup (trucks). A truck by definition a semi. My ex owned the first gen ridgeline. It was a fun vehicle to drive. I looked into the 2nd gen but lease prices were ridiculous. It’s has the most room of any mid-size and for what I needed it for, it fit the bill. Too bad the price didn’t. I previously had a 17 Tacoma and it was too cramp inside. Fun mid-size drive and park but it wasn’t for me. So I went back to my 4th tundra. By the way the 2nd gen Ridgeline does have a full frame.

Was the Ridgeline actually more expensive than a Tacoma? Seems like Tacomas were as much as Tundras around here even before the pandemic.

If I recall back from 2017 when I leased my Tacoma, the taco and ridge were about the same price point for any given trim. The taco leased better because it had a higher resale value. Hence why I went with the taco. I am a Toyota and Honda fan, not a fanboy, lol but they make great products. I would have leased anything that was cheap. At the end of the day it’s not mines and they have to deal with it on lease end. I remember talking to a dodge dealer and asking if they could do $350-400 lease payment, comparing apples to apples with the tundra. The dealer said no way. My friend actually has a dodge lease and it around $200 more than my tundra, ridiculous. And if I also recall the tacos were up there with the tundra. When I went to release the tundra had a better payment when compared to the taco. Either way, I was done with the taco because of comfort. The ridge has a very big interior. Bigger than the taco but less than the tundra. All I pull is a 18’ boat so the ridge was perfect and the tundra was an overkill. But since money talks and the tundra had a great payment, that’s what I leased.
