I have, definitely can be done. Make sure you do it via a professional shop or dealer. It can trip the airbag if you are not careful.

After doing mine I was underwhelmed. I would personally just get puddle lights under the door or frame area, works way better and less risk to trip an air bag.

I installed some AMP running boards and did 2 jobs in 1 for me

How does that trip an airbag? If I'm using stock harness in mirror assy?

There is a small airbag line that passes through that area. I tripped it and was a PITA to fix. It’s been some years, so just be cautious and map where you are working and keep track.

Ok awesome thanks. Just found a thread that had a video on how to install them. Works great. But thanks for the heads up

Check out AMP running boards, they have built in puddle lights and are very bright. No problem!

NO reason not to do this simple upgrade yourself.
No way I'd pay anyone to do it.
It is as simple as pulling the door panel, removing the mirror, running the wiring, cutting a hole in the bottom of the mirror, tapping into the tiny floorboard light circut, testing it, and reassembling it.
If one is worried about triggering an airbag, disconnect the battery before installation.

The tiny lights that came with my AMP steps were quickly replaced with something usable.
Perhaps they gave you different lights.

I replaced them with metal 12" LED bars painted to match..
I've since removed my AMP steps, got tired of replacing parts.

VLEDs is the way to go.
I first tried some other LEDS and none were as bright as VLED.

Thanks man. Yeah I'll do it my self. Also i don't need to buy AMP runningboards when I already have boards in place. And definitely not spending $1400 on them. When all I want is puddle lights lol
