Mine is the 1/2" mid torque. It's got 650ft lbs of breaking force. It pulls lug nuts with ease.

Does anybody have the underhood light? It's one of many on my wishlist

    IIRC, Nutbusting torque figures:

    Stubby - 250
    Older mid torque - 450
    Newer mid torque - 650
    Older high torque - 1100
    New high torque - 1200-1600

That’s maximum developed torque in reverse which takes a few ugga-duggas. In real life, the stubby will do lugs on aluminum wheels but struggles with steel wheels. The mid torque will usually bust free the rear shock bolt but not the front shock bolt unless you are lucky and let it eat for a bit.

Just got it the other day, haven’t used it. Yet. I’ve been using the m12 Rover when working under the hood. It is compact, puts out a good amount of quality light, and it has a magnet on the back to hold it to the underside of the hood. I always have a few in the truck so I don’t have to go searching for them, either.

I expect the under hood light to be even better.

Nice! I'm looking at the lighting options right now and there's quite a bit. I was gonna pull the trigger when it was on sale but I got a tight budget right now.

Looking at this m12 Rover and it's $20 off right now at HD. This the one you have? Or the other?

Just food for thought. I used cheap Nilight strip lights under the hood (could use Matt gecko etc etc) and terminated them into a DT connector. Bought this guy so I can power those lights either by m12 battery or off my switchpro

Holy shit! That's ingenius. You just reminded me that several SEVERAL years ago I bought something similar from a guy on TW for my Taco. Adhesive led strip wired to the battery and a switch that would automatically turn them on when the hood opened. I'm sure he or someone that makes them is still out there.

Wired to one of these switches so would turn off when hood closed and turn on when open

This is the one I like. It has a USB port, as well, so you can charge your phone or earphones in a pinch.

    Screen Shot 2024-12-12 at 9.13.59 PM.png

I have the M18 version of the one you posted; it works well for some things, but the little rovers are Excellent. They seem almost as bright as the m12 Rockets but last longer on batteries. They very handy and compact. I will often pack one in to an unlit bathroom or bedroom and it will provide enough light to work without squinting (as long as the walls and ceiling are white-ish, then they will reflect a lot of the light so I literally put the light in the corner facing the walls and ceiling rather than pointing at me). I will also throw them in my trailer if it's dark, or back of the truck when loading/unloading. They provide ample light without blinding you.

They just released an M18 version of it which I plan on trying out. 110 hours of light on one XC5.0 set to UltraLow... 22 hours on High. Wow.

A little OT from Milwaukee tools, but I purchased a similar switch years ago with the intent of wiring an LED strip under the bed caps in my truck to illuminate when I open the tailgate. Speaking of which, I think I need to install that...

Those little M12 adapters are handy. I use them to run 12v accessories light radios, lights, etc on my workbench or outside. I was fiddling with some LED lights I had sitting around and decided to compare lumens and pattern one night but didn't want to wire them up to the truck. I used the adapter with some quick connect fittings and took each light outside to shoot it down the road (I live on a county lane, so I wasn't blinding any traffic). The Hella 550's were as good as I remembered them to be. Speaking of which, I need to go figure out how to put the new ones on the truck. ha.

Close, I wonder what we would do if we needed to install that disconnect on 1 1/2 conduit?

Hint- It's not what is there it's what not there. (in the pic)

This doesn't help you right now, but I believe I grabbed mine on a doorbuster for $189 (free tool) w/charger and battery purchase....

This is the online sku for the deal... 322135293

...but it's showing like $430 now.

    The in-store sku is... 1009472915

Keep an eye out on the Special Buy 'Deal of the Day' to see if it pops back up again

Yeah, I went back and checked my order...

It was on the 29th of Nov (so it was a BF doorbuster), and I paid $189 for the 'charger and a 5ah battery starter pack' and got a tool for free.... One of the options was the 1/2" mid-torque brushless impact!! Screaming deal I couldn't pass up

Don't know if you'll see it that cheap again, but check periodically on the deal of the day and also on the $199 $299 starter packs w/'free tool' to see if it cycles back into play again during the holidays!
