Have a '11 Tacoma, (and a '77 FJ40, but that's another story), and have been thinking of trading in the Taco on a Tundra. There are some pretty decent deals here in Central Texas right now, and I'm trying to figure out if I want to buy one with the TSS Off Road package on it already, or get one without, and do the lift/tires/wheels myself... I put a small lift and new tires on my Taco, two days after bringing it home, but heard the Tundra lift packages are a bit higher than for the Taco. I'm not looking for a huge lift, maybe 3", and do know the Off Road package adds the 20" wheels, but both the Tacoma and an FJ Cruiser I had before that needed work to level out, not sure if the Tundra is the same way, with the front end lower...

Any advice is welcome, and thanks!!!

Welcome from CO! If you plan on making it your own, save the cash and skip the TSS so the funds can be used for the lift.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the off road package does not add 20" wheels. They are 18" as well. It's the platinum that has 20s

Welcome from eastern CO! The Tundra does have a lower front end, same as most stock vehicles. What kit do you have on the Taco?

The TSS is a regional package, not one straight from Toyota.

Ahh, gotcha. Just thought it was named different regionally, but still the TRD. Thanks

it was a kit from Toytec; UCAs, springs, AAL, and OME shocks all around.

And it is 20" wheels here in Texas.

See, I told you I may be wrong haha! Just wanted to make sure you weren't shopping around for the wrong size tires if you went that route. My lack of knowledge with trucks never ceases to amaze me

Your profile states that you are a trophy husband, but I find that hard to believe. Any true husband never forgets how little they know, they are reminded daily! :D
