I want to place a screen downstream from the engine air filters to block the little bastards that are trying to set up shop… where are the intakes? Also appear there is a drain in the bottom of each air filter box. Wondering if they are getting through there too.

I think they take the air near the headligth.
And I dont know what is the foam under the filter in the air box , you think its a drain for the water ?

So glad you noticed the white foam too. Yes I think it’s a drain. There was a bit of the white stuff sucked into the airfilter so I wondered if they chewed through the black piece to get to the white foam, or if the hole came that way from the factory. I friend who is a Toyota tech is coming over a couple weeks and I’ll have him look at it. I agree the intakes must be near the headlamps but there is an awful lot of stuff that neighborhood and I was too lazy to poke around much.
