Mechanic left these dangling after 4.88 gear installation

Picked up my truck after getting Nitro 4.88s w/Auburn LSD installed. Got home and saw this...

This is a very reputable shop in the bay area.

 

What shop is this?

 

Take it back and having them address the issue is the best solution versus a 5 page thread of everyone complaining about everything under the moon.

 

I have a right to bitch about it, the shop is 1.5 hours from me, plus bridge tolls, plus time leaving work early to drop off the truck, they're closed on weekends.

But yes, I'm taking it in today.

 

How does the truck feel with the new gears?

 

Honestly, it's awesome. The truck shifts as if it's stock. I use the truck mainly to pull my Airstream, so looking forward to a test run. I'm very happy with the results.

 

I must be in the minority, but if I had noticed a bolt missing like that, I would save myself the grief, time and energy and find a bolt and put it back myself

 

Yup. Give it run through and take care of. Not driving 1.5hrs and making a stink to fix something easy if that’s all it is.

It's a principle thing with me. I paid for a service to be completed completely. Yes, it's chicken shit issue, but that's how I feel about it

 

Take a picture and send it to them, why is a garden hose on your truck??

 

Honestly save yourself the trouble, call and let them know about it and get the 35 cent bolt. You’re only putting your self out by going back, 3 hr (1.5 each way I assume) of driving and tolls and time off work. No way.

You would think a brake line would be pretty noticeable just hanging but another reminder to always inspect before leaving the shop

 

By the time you get back there you might be through your break-in and you can have them change the fluid.

To go a bit further, have them pay for it in exchange for their mistake.

 

Update, just dropped the truck off. The owner wanted to test drive it to make sure all is good. He said "I hear gear noise" so it's back in the shop.

Yeah . It just makes me wonder even more about their attention to detail.

Told the owner I'll give him a shot to make it right, but I'm not happy about it.

 

I can’t figure out why they’d mess with your parking brake cables. Looks like they were on LSD instead of installing it.

Bummer dude. Hopefully they make it right somehow.

 

I’m now thinking they left the rear brakes fully assembled less the brake lines, disconnected these park brake cable stand-off’s for more slack, pulled the axles and swung them aside. Which actually makes sense.

 

Good on him for taking a look...as for the bolt...I get the principle of the matter and if you have time and desire, go for it.
