Googled it and found nothing helpful. 1 option was dealer update for $169. Not doing that. Another was Entune app. I don't think it exists. I have the Toyota app and it is worthless.

Not a big deal. I tried to plug a new boat ramp into the GPS. Only reason was some backroads cut off miles and don't want to miss turn to ramp that sneaks up on you. Could just use Google Maps on phone but we always put our phones in glove box on boat before leaving the house.

Even that dealer update card is out dated. Your only option is to either replace the headunit with a newer unit that has gps and/or CarPlay, or just use your phone.

Don't have any use for CarPlay. Don't even know what it is and don't care. Will just use phones for GPS if going somewhere new.

CarPlay gives you the ability to use the phones gps utilizing the screen on the headunit.

The maps on the "new" sd cards will be a year old. So a 2023 update card will have 2022 maps. That being said, before I installed my Alpine last year I updated my stock HU. You can get knockoff cards at Amazon or eBay. Just do your research and find the newest Toyota part number, often the knockoff ones will be advertised as being the newest but have an older part number,

You can get up to 21 for these, you can find the chip on scamazon of fleabay for a lot less than $169. Thats the latest you are going to get. Unplug your existing chip and plug that in.

1 frustrating thing about it is the road to the ramp has been there forever. At 1 time it went to a marina and another ramp. The Sabine River authority bought out the marina and built a park. The road does not even show on the Toyota GPS.

Toyotas maps suck. The oem navigation put me in the wrong spot more times than it didn’t. I got tired of it and got an aftermarket unit with built in Garmin nav. Spot on every time now.

Yep, did that to me when my brother bought a new place. I made the mistake of following it. Put me down the wrong road and had to figure out how to turn around with boat behind on a narrow 2 lane road.

I use an old school Garmin dash mounted unit and keep it updated.

Yep. It literally would bring me to a dead end road, where I could actually see my destination, but it was across an 8 lane highway. Lol. We travel a good bit so I needed something reliable and accurate. I actually had to go look at a job on Wednesday that had no physical address or even a Google street view. I pinned the spot in google earth. Then plugged those coordinates into the headunit. Brought me right to the spot, which was about 25 miles from the nearest highway. Oem gps would have got me seriously lost.
