Any of you logging your maintenance stuff in your head unit of your truck? Mine is a 2018 CM. I briefly looked at it but haven’t figured it out yet. Dealership told me I could document and input it in there. Would like to know you guys input on this. So far I’m keeping paper copies and inputting things into the Toyota owners app. I’m assuming if you input into the head unit that you’ll get reminders maybe?

    Thanks

I have a little book I keep in the glove box to everything that has even been completed on the truck. I changed out my HU. But the stock one has reminders that you can set for various items. But I don't believe it keeps records its just a mileage countdown to remind you to do maintenance.

I do mine in the Owners website as stated above. Great resource and you can print it all out if needed in the future

Yep, when I recently traded in my 07 for my 14, I had in hand full maintenance records going back to day 1. Previous owner used the site and I continued the history. I've got full maintenance records on my 14 on the site too going back to day 1. I document everything there.

Sounds like I was mislead about what you can enter in there. I’ll have to check it out later but either way I’m covered by paper trail and putting it in the Toyota app.

I use it as a reminder for oil changes. I keep a spreadsheet on my computer tho w/all my maintenance items.

I use an app on my phone called fuelio. I have it on the "fuel" portion in the screen shot but it has an expense section that you can add all maintenance related costs and set reminders. Damn good app for being free and having 0 ads.

I use a couple of options in the HU for reminders on oil change, etc. as others have said the Toyota owners app can log and track. I’ve used it on both Tundras and my other Toyota’s. It’s also got owners manuals and other good info. Also the myCARFAX can be used to track. It’ll also provide reminders for registration and inspections.

So you enter the mileage countdown and let it go from there?

For the most part, yes. I still keep track of time and mileage in my head and if I'm at 6 months I'll change it before the reminder pops up.

I’m looking in the maintenance section of the head unit. I’m wondering if the truck by default is set to show maintenance required visit dealer every 5k no matter what? I see no options entered or highlighted is why I ask. I’m guessing it is set up from the factory like this.
