Dogs. How often do you wash yours? My best lives at home on the floor and gets washed once every 3-4 weeks. He does get a queen spot on the bed right after washing, but then its floor as soon as he steps outside to pee or poop.

When you go to vet(if you do), what kinds of service packages do you complete on your pet? I always do necessary shots and general extermination. He gets distemper shot and that other important one I don't remember name.

Any flea collars or pills? I give mine a pill every once in a while for worms and he's wearing g a collar against ticks and fleas.

Please share your maintenance levels and schedules. Thanks gang. Also, please include breed and/or pic of your pet.

We have a 7 year old Australian Shepherd and he really only gets a bath once every couple months. He's long haired and surprisingly stays pretty clean and never smells. He occasionally gets to go swimming in the lake so he'll get a bath after that.

He loves sleeping up on our bed but my wife recently bought him his own temperpedic bed to start sleeping on. So we'll see how long that actually lasts for.

My MIL works at vet clinic so she'll take him in when he's due for shots to keep him up to date. He gets his monthly worm pill and K9 Advantix when I remember to do it (not very often). My inlaws have his brother from the same litter so they're around each other a lot it helps keep their schedule similar.

We also have him on Royal Canin food. It does wonders for him and his digestive system. A good quality food is the best thing for a happy healthy dog.

Our miniature dachshund is surprisingly clean. Gets a bath about every two months and sleeps with us. No flea collar and goes to vet once a year for shots and to get her anal glands expressed. She turned 15 this year but acts like a two year old.

My wife and have had several dogs from the shelter and a few from the pet store. We have decided to stick with the short hair dogs for now.
This is Tallulah. We brought her home on April 14th. She will get a bath once a month or every other month depending on if she gets into anything she shouldn't.
So far she has been pretty easy to bath and clip her nails. She barely sheds compared to other dogs we have had.

On thing we will do from now on at least once a year at their annual vet visit is a full blood panel. It pretty much tells you if anything is not working the way it should. We just lost a dog to cancer, and we think if we had been having the blood work done every year, we would have caught it sooner. That's a hard pill to swallow.

Puppy shots and rabies shots are about all we do. Our vet has got us to do the heartworm stuff occasionally - but it’s been a few years since we did that. They get bathed when they start to smell or get extra dirty - usually once every couple months.
