Hello I’m currently looking for the drivers side and passenger side catylitic converter sections from the manifolds to the muffler. I’ve got two different quotes for just parts alone. The dealer quoted $4000. And a parts dealer on this forum quoted $2500. I just recently found that magnaflow sells both sides for $800. Has anyone ordered the Magnaflow Catylitic converter?? Did you need to buy anything else besides gaskets? I’m just curious why it’s so cheap and if it really makes a huge difference

more than I can list here
Here’s a story which will explain why it’s so cheap:

You park your truck in the bad part of town. Your truck had 500,000 miles and all cats throw a check engine light. But the ceramic biscuit inside is not cracked.

A tweaker walks by and sees a tundra sitting there and crawls underneath to cut out one of the cats. He gets scared after cutting the first cat and gets back up on his feet, when he notices you have a brand new magnaflow in the bed of the truck, still in the box.

Said tweaker grabs the magnaflow and still has your super old ugly stock cat in his other hand.

He walks down to the recycle yard and turns in the magnaflow first figuring he would get a pretty penny, after all it’s brand new. Come to find out, to his disappointment, they give him $5. That’s right $5!!

Now he’s bummed. If the brand new magnaflow only pays $5, the rusty pos he cut out from under your truck can’t be worth nothin!! Right?

Wrong. The rusty worn old cat from under your truck is worth $100 recycle value!!

Big question: would you rather have a $100 cat or a $5 cat.

So basically it’s just comes down to quality?
