I am finishing up the install of a Kenwood 1057xr and using the Maestro RR2, everything is working great except the usb adapter cable does not work. It will charge phone but not send audio to head unit, I tried 2 different cables thinking the 1st was faulty and still nothing, any ideas?

Thanks brother, I can't imagine what the issue could be besides a bad usb port on the radio, it is simply just plugging in a wire.

    iPhone or Android?

Have you tried a USB thumb drive with some audio files?
Is the phone connected thru bluetooth?
Can you connect the phone thru the wireless Android or Carplay?

No usb drive, but I tested multiple different phones.
Yes phone is connected through bluetooth
Yes AA and Apple Carplay work perfectly.

    That is odd.
A lot of Pioneer and Kenwood HUs have 2 usbs, and only one will connect to a phone.
But it looks like yours only has one..

Did you try turning off Carplay on the phone to use it plugged in with a wired connection (as in the wired connection preparation below)?
Pretty sure a KCA-IP103 is just a long standard phone cable.
Did you go to the menu and select ipod?

I did connect via Android Auto first, maybe I will disconnect from AA and see if that does anything, thanks for the help.

Thanks! You helped me figure it out, USB will not work if you are already connected via Android Auto/Apple Carplay, as soon as I unpaired my phone it worked perfectly through USB. I will probably use wireless AA 99.9% of time, but it's nice to know all features work flawlessly. Could not be more happier with this radio and Audison speakers/amp combo.

Glad you got it figured out..
It's always good to have a backup plan in case the wireless stuff peters out.

    Be safe....

I finally installed mine today. It works as advertised. I plugged in a flash drive with music and no issues at all.

You can’t use wireless CarPlay and send data like audio through the cable at the same time. That’s why it’s only charging. It’s an iOS thing that will only let you do one or the other.

Correct, I finally figured that out, once I disconnected from Carplay wirelessly it worked perfectly.
