Has anyone had to replace lower ball joint on 2008 Tundra both fronts?

I need to, just haven't gotten around to it yet. My lower left leaked a little grease so I'm sure it's due and I'll just do both sides and be done with it. It doesn't look like to much of a pain..... said the guy with a hoist, air tools and a 25 ton press lol.

From everything I've read, it seems most guys lean towards replacing the entire LCA rather than messing with the ball joint.

The lower control arm is about 400 per side from dealer and they want 2.9 hrs at 135.00 an hour

I know the OE ones aren't cheap. There are lesser expensive options out there but it seems like Moog and Mevotech are the ones to avoid, poor quality. If you're up to the task, replacing the entire LCA really isn't that difficult as long as the eccentric bolts and the lower shock bolts aren't corroded too badly. Whether you tackle it yourself or have the dealer do it, you'll need an alignment.
