My 2012 Tundra has a very loud noise when the wheel is turned all the way to the right. Clunking / Popping sound. Does anyone have an idea of what this could be ?? Thanks , Joe

Steering rack? Tie rod end? Is it 4WD? Could be CV joint? Need more info abut your setup to say but at 11 years old, something could just be wore out.

It is not 4 wheel drive. I had the struts replaced about a month ago. I’ll look at the cap bushing tomorrow. Only happens when I’m turning hard into a parking spot or just a tight turn. Thanks

Struts replaced a month ago is the kind of thing to include so people here can better help you out. I would start with those. What kind of struts did you have installed? Did you do the work yourself or a shop? Someone should check the bolts and ensure they are torqued properly.

Struts we’re installed by my mechanic. I am contacting him about the sound. Was just wondering what could cause that clunk. Thanks

I had a sway bar end link snap after suspension work on a previous car. It would make a couple loud clunks pulling into a parking lot or driveway with any elevation from the road and with the steering cranked. I completely missed it when I had it jacked up with the wheel off because I kept looking for something loose on the new suspension parts. Just a thought.

Check if your brake caliper bolts are tight.

Looked at the struts and cap bushing is new as both were just replaced. Nothing jumps out as worn or broken, loose. Haven’t had a chance to go by mechanics shop. Maybe struts are catching on something. Will post after seeing mechanic.
