I had a loose fitting on a brand new fox. I feel like 4 wheel parts did something but I did the install so ultimately it's my fault. I checked the fittings prior and completely missed this shock. If I had to guess I'd say it lost a 1/2 oz of oil or less.

Am I ok with just adding nitrogen or am I going to need oil as well? Not sure oil capacity on these (fox 2.5 CO). I'm in a time crunch and would like to take the truck somewhere rather than pull the shock and take it.

Any recommend shops? Preferably close to Costa Mesa or Yorba Linda

Charge it with N2. You will be fine.

so, my 3.0 is still dripping. very slight but, there's a mark on the driveway. i'm headed up to filthy on thursday to drop off the 2.5s for a rebuild. should i have them hit with some N2 while i'm there? what do i need to do this at home?

If your leaking enough on the 3.0’s to have oil dripping, they need a re-Seal.

I'm pretty sure Costco has nitrogen fill station for free if youre a member. Bring an accurate gauge with you and see if you can fill em yourself.

Its a totally different system between shocks and tires.

What are you talking about specifically? It does need a higher pressure, so the tire station might not go that high. As long as the shock has a Schrader valve it can be filled.

you'll need a no loss valve as the shock has very little n2 volume under high pressure and you'll also have to jack the truck up so that the shock is not compressed at all. Never seen a tire shop that allows customers to bring in their own adapters.

Yeah, i forgot about jacking the truck up, youre right. I would think the no loss adapter wouldnt be too obvious since you just attach it to the shock valve and fill from there.

Most weekend warriors probably dont have an adapter. Id think in a pinch he can do it with out the no loss set up, may not be perfect. I was just trying to make a suggestion if he couldnt get into an offroad shop. He noted that he was in a time crunch.
