So I really want to ditch the factory Entune head unit for a modern Android Auto system. And I've been asking questions at local install shops. They tell me the steering wheel buttons, reverse camera, XM radio, etc. can be retained with a Maestro harness that retails for around $200 bucks. However, one thing that they say CAN'T be retained is the ability to adjust vehicle settings.

Currently my Entune HU can allow adjustment for auto headlight sensitivity, auto door unlock, length of time lights stay on after ignition is turned off, and a few other things. What are you guys doing about losing the ability to access this stuff? Is it a big deal? Do you just get used to never being able to change these things again?

I replaced my Entune with a Kenwood head unit along with the RR... All of my factory features were retained... This is primarily a function of the RR / RR2...

What @liddown said. Maestro retains the function including the menus accessible on the stock HU. If your installer doesn’t know this, I’d rethink having them touch my vehicle. I installed myself - it isn’t difficult and you can know it was done right.

I don't completely hate the setup in my '21, but I have wondered this myself.

    Alot of them
The only thing you will lose is the factory microphone. Those settings will be retained. I just overhauled my 2020.
