I have a 2014 tundra and I noticed a loose 2 pin wire underneath the dash. Im having a hard time trying to identify what it is or for. It's hanging just between the gas pedal and the right side of the center console on the driver side. Does anyone know what this is for?

Noticed this when I installed my remote start. On my 2010 which had auto climate there was a sensor around that area so maybe that’s what it’s for.

The Tundras have a few unused connectors like that. Not every truck has the same options or equipment.

So the trucks are pre-wired for accessories, it's easier to just plug things in than to run wires then plug them in. Your truck just doesn't have an option that another model would. For example heated seats, models with it would have the control switch and the actual heated seats plugged in. Models without it would just have the wire and a blank where the control switch would go.

I don't know that's what I am trying to find out. Im wondering if something fell off or disconnected perhaps during a prior service. I did notice I can't turn off my factory stereo. When I push the power button it only reboots and I can't recall if this is normal. I don't have heated seats either, so not sure.

You’ll probably find the other end running to the fuse box as BZRK_Tundra said they come pre wired for different options so it doesn’t slow the assembly line down , pretty much all manufacturer’s do this .
