Hi, I'm looking for a shop to install shocks, TRD sway bar, shackles and sumo springs. I have the parts, I just need to find a good mechanic or shop who can do this. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

There's also a good sized Austin Tundracrew group that is active on FB. Do a search and hit em up to ask what they recommend.

Heck there’s even a shop in austin area that’ll let you do your own install and provide support if needed

Chris does great work, just don’t be in a hurry!

I also use Bearden, expensive, but very honest! Not sure if they actually do suspension work though. Land cruiser specialist is also a hood shop but pricey, cheers!

Did you find a shop to help you with this?

Why am I posting on this old thread?

I’m considering opening a mobile mechanic service in Austin that specializes in Toyota trucks and SUVs, specifically 4wd Land Cruisers, Tacomas, Tundras, 4Runners, Lexus GX and Lexus LX. I’ve noticed over the years a lot of folks asking for shop recommendations for suspension modifications and other off-road bits.

I’m looking for thoughtful insight and opinions on bringing the suspension shop to the customer, including alignments. Other services would be offered, such as armor, differentials, etc. Maybe other repairs too.

My goal isn’t to be the cheapest. Instead it would be to provide an alternative to bringing your vehicle to a specific area of town that most people don’t live in (looking at you 183). Being a Toyota specialist means I am able to offer recommendations, source parts, and have already solved a lot of problems specific to certain vehicles.

If anyone, consumer or mechanic, has helpful opinions, I’m all ears.
