I'd like to change my tires to a larger size without having to do any mods. What's a good brand and size recommendation.

i vote for the ridge grapplers. i have been running those for years. as far as size, we need to know what your current size is and if you have a lift or not.

You can typically go up one size without any mods. i.e. if you have 70 sidewalls you can go to 75, or from 275 width go to 285, but not both. Since the pro essentially already have a 2" lift you might get away with more.

I’m currently running the stock Michelin that come on the Pros. I’d like to go a little bigger without having to add spacers or lift.

    sooo.... you currently have 275/65/18 (32.08") ?

    you could go to:
    • 285/65/18 - 32.58"
    • 275/70/18 - 33.16"
    • 285/70/18 - 33.70"

No One ever got fired for buying the KO2 but then they were almost the only game in town back then too.

I like them still but have also had really good experience with Bridgestone,Cooper,Nitto,Falken and Goodyears so YMMV literally!

Witch is less likely to rub on a stock pro 285/65/18 or 275/70/18?

    Neither will.

some guys with pros on here have run 295/70r18’s without issues.

Your Stock upper Control arm will be close to the tire but won’t rub. Unless the tire actual dimensions are super-off from their nominal dimensions. If you stick with the above recommendations you should be fine.
I’ve run KO2s on my TRD OR (not “lifted” like your pro is) at 275/70 18 and haven’t had any rubbing. I’ve been really happy with the tire. Some complain of balancing issues. I haven’t had that and have 45k on the clock.
The wife’s 4R has the wildpeaks (we need snow ratings up here). Also a great tire, with good tread life. Can’t beat the price. But they’re the heaviest of any of the major brands in an A/T.

I’m likely moving to a 295/70 with 2” Bilstein 6112 up front to fit them. I’ll probably do the cooper at3 XLT. For their reputation, weight, and appearance (and the KO2s aren’t made in that size).

    Happy hunting

I’ve had both BFG KO2s and just now am running Falken Wildpeaks. In my opinion they’re really very equal in looks and performance. Falkens are less expensive.

If you want to consider Goodyear Duratracs, they are on Chevy Trailbosses as a stock tire so you could test drive a Trailboss to see if you like them. I did and found they were very noisy.

Other popular tires are Nitto Ridge Grapplers and Coopers.

That’s true , they also come standard on the Rebel and the Wildpeaks come standard on any model Ram with the ORG . So you could test drive them both to see if you mind the noise or not .

From 285/70/17 Yokohama M/T Horribly loud tires and you could feel the lugs at low speeds.
To 305/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers super quiet and roll nice.
About the same time installed BAMUFFLER, and AFE dry filter. Noticed a slight increase in MPG.

Hey! Don't mean to hijack the thread, but this may help others too. What's the benefit in going up to a slightly bigger size, like 275/70R18? I can see two benefits: one being for looks, a slightly taller tire just looks better, and two, a taller sidewall gives a bit more cushioning and wheel rim protection (and clearance). But, the stock size 275/65R18 sidewall seems to have a decent amount of meat to it. To me, I think that to make any significant difference, I'd need to jump up to a much bigger size. And a potential drawback is that it will increase that already healthy appetite for gas our Tundras have.

That being said, I'm thinking of getting rid of my worn out Toyo Open Country AT2 tires for my 2009 Tundra Crewmax TRD Off Road (previous owner put those on, I bought the truck a year ago). They are the stock size LT275/65R18. I have stock wheels and suspension, though the shocks/struts and springs are new last year, but just NAPA stock style replacements, no lifts or upgrades - I'm on a bit of a budget. I've been reading on here a lot of you guys are running 275/70R18 on stock wheels and suspension without any issues, so for the benefits mentioned above, I'm thinking of getting that size since it sounds like I will not have any clearance or rubbing issues. If I'm going to change sizes, now is the time to do it. Or, I can play it safe, and maybe save a bit of gas by staying with the stock size. And save a bit of money on the tires too, though not much.

I'm heavily leaning towards getting the BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2. I had these on a previous Tundra Limited (but in LT275/55R20) and on an old 60 series Land Cruiser (the KO), liked them both times. I tow a travel trailer and sometimes do light off roading, so I will stay with LT tires. I've also considered a few other brands but will probably stick with what I know and one of the all time best sellers.

Just noticed that the BF Goodrich LT275/70R18 comes in the "DT" (Different Tread) meaning, it does NOT have the 3-Peak Mountain & Snowflake. Once I saw that on tirerack.com that ruled out one of my choices. Interestingly, it's not mentioned on the BF Goodrich website. If that becomes the dealbreaker, I'll definitely have to confirm if the LT275/70R18 has the non-winter rated tread. I actually have a separate set of studded winter tires, but since I live in the Rocky Mountains of BC and most of the highways are subject to the winter tire law, (and you can only drive on studded tires from October 1 to April 30), I wanted winter rated tires in case I didn't get my true winter tires on early enough, or decided to take them off early but still be in compliance. Or, drive to a warm area like southern California in January or February where you need winter tires to get part way there, but not while you're there.

So, I'll either get BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 in the stock size LT275/65R18 and definitely will not have any rubbing or fitment issues, and easy to find just about anywhere if I get a flat tire. Or, I may still consider getting LT275/70R18 but in a different brand. I had also been considering:

Falken WildPeak A/T AT3 (seems to be very well liked and well priced, 2nd cheapest)
Sumitomo Encounter AT (cannot find much info on it, but what I can find seems ok, cheapest tire on this list)
Toyo Open Country AT II AW (what I have now, but not the AW, mine lacks the 3 peak mountain and snowflake, this version would have it)
General Grabber A/TX AW (another well liked tire, similar to BFG and slightly cheaper)
Cooper Discoverer at3 4s (some people love them, some hate them)
Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac (most people who have them really like them, though one complain is weak sidewalls for abrasions/cuts)
Nitto Ridge Grappler (hybrid mud/all terrain, many people like it)

Still interesting in hearing pros and cons to going for a 275/70R18. I thought of another potential con... it will probably weigh a bit more, and even a few extra pounds of unsprung weight can make a difference in power and fuel economy. Our Tundras have plenty of power and torque to spare, but I welcome any improvement in fuel economy and hate to see it get any worse. Any other thoughts on this tire size?
