    Hello fellow Tundra owners!

I am a official owner. Just got a 2021 Tundra Platinum, Crewmax, with TRD upgrades. This is my first truck, and from reading the reliability ratings, I think I'll be keeping it for some time.

I have been looking extensively for tonneau covers and a rack for my kayaks, when I tow my camper.

I really wanted to like the ADARAC M series (half rack) hoping the nose of my kayaks would clear the window in the cab, but I'm worried unless I get a full rack, that they wont clear my camper in tow.

So I guess I'm going to be looking at a full height rack for my stake holes and a tonneau cover.

Any suggestions for the combo? Adarac seems to have great reviews, and they seem durable. As far as the tonneau covers, I really wanted a Retrax, but I dont want to lose a foot of the bed for the canister it rolls up into, so now Im looking at a bakflip.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, as Im planning on purchasing this week

    Hi
How does the combo work out for you? where do you get them and how do you like them?

I am on the same boat in trying to replace my tri-fold extang hard cover to something that could work with a bed rack for bicycles and maybe kayaks in the future

    Thank you and happy holidays!!

I haven't placed the kayaks on the rack. It's been too cold. But the Adarac should definitely hold the weight of two kayaks.

I did buy the adarac rack and a Bakflip cover. Adarac also makes a shorter rack? which would place the nose of the kayaks ever so slightly above the cab (according to my calculations), and stick out roughly 7ft of kayak on the back of the truck. I didn't like this idea (in case you get in a front end collision, unless the nose of the kayak is above the cab, they would fly into the cab and potentially kill you.) Also the shorter rack doesn't hold as much weight.

I called Bakflip myself as they make a combo of a rack plus a flip cover, and they said over the phone that "it sucks, we don't suggest it, people complain about it flailing in the wind."

I wanted the bakflip because 99% of the time, I wouldn't have the racks installed, and I liked the idea of the cover concealing to the smallest amount, giving me most use of my 5.5ft bed. Also, they make a roll up cover, but you can't stop part way with the cover, it has to be rolled up all the way to lock the cover in place. I like the idea of having 2/3 of the bed covered and only uncover the bed where I need to be used. Fully folded up, the bakflip still shows the third brake light. I ended up getting the bakflip MX4.

I had a local company install the rack and bakflip, but when I called Bakflip myself, they actually sell Adarac racks and the bakflip itself and there prices were roughly $400 cheaper than my local installer. The local installer gave me a rubber mat for the bed, as I didn't cancel their order (I prefer to buy and install with local companies, I'm a economy kind of guy)

All in all it was an easy install. The only hard part was watching them cut out my stake holes, which are hidden with our plastic toppers installed from the factory.

Adarac makes an amazing product. There racks are top of the line. They hold a fair amount of weight (500lbs I believe) because eventually I'd like to look into a tent for my rack for when I go to music festivals, whenever they start back up.

Also the racks are removed very easily with 8 bolts (4 per rack) and all that is left over is the sliding portion running down the sides of the bed. Of note, they are completely straight, and our truck beds lip ever so slightly near the tail lights, so they stick out a very minute amount. Doesn't bother me one bit as they look like they're meant to be part of the truck when the racks aren't there.

I'll picked up the adarac pro rack as well last week. Already using the Lomax cover. Hoping to install the rack myself this week... I also thought about adding the short rack with some kind of basket to carry coolers and such and save my bed space.
