Greetings all, new member here from Long Island , New York. I currently have a 2014 Toyota Sequoia with 147,000 trouble free miles on it, the truck is a beast , well maintained and never a problem, fantastic for my daughters soccer team and friends.
Well my daughter is getting older and my next truck is a Tundra, love the Toyota durability. The only problem is here in NY, at least the suburbs , the Toyota dealers never have any models on the lot as they are “too big”. The dealers also don’t know much about the differences in the models and the redesign in 2021. I am not a expert by any means but there is so much good advice on this forum.
My question is, what dealer have you liked and where they really know their trucks. Distance dosent really matter as that would be half the fun, flying out to get it and driving it home, I just want to deal with someone squared away. Should I wait for the new design or pick up a 2020 at a good price? Or should I give it 3 to 4 years in the new design before I pull the trigger?
Thanks again for all your input!

I do paint work for Waite Toyota in Watertown NY and burdick Toyota in north Syracuse NY. Both are very knowledgeable and nice to do business with. Burdick will have more of a selection.

I've dealt with my local dealership for several trucks over the years, including 3 brand new trucks. Toyota of Easley. They have pretty good selection of Tundra's on the lot. Personally, I'd wait a couple years after the new designed Tundra comes out, before I bought one. And also, highly doubtful you'll be able to get the 5.7 in the new designed Tundra.

So would you recommend grabbing the 5.7 2021 at a good price or waiting ? I know I like the current Tundra, not sure about the redesign ?

If you don't care about a few MPGs go for a Gen 3 2020 or 2021 with the 5.7. I might lean towards a late this year purchase of a 2020. If Toyota screws the Tundra up like they did the Tacoma their could be a rush on the 2021s at the wire.

    Welcome neighbor.
I have a friend that works at Johnston Toyota in Middletown, NY .
It's probably about 1.5 hours northwest of the Throgs Neck or Whitestone bridges.
PM me if you want me to hook you up. Go to their website and see what they have.
