going to look at a one owner 2013 CrewMax limited tomorrow. Truck is spotless in the pics 115k miles. I got the VIN and ran it on the Toyota owners site to check service history etc. truck has been maintained at the local Toyota dealer since new. My concerns lie with the AIP system. It seems there was an ECU reflash done a few years ago at the dealer. If it was done, will the AIP bypass kit not work should I need it if I buy the truck?

I also asked if the pumps were covered under the 10yr/150k mile extended warranty...the service advisor told me it was not, even though the VIN for this truck is within the VIN range on the tundraheadquarters.com

Is the dealer trying to pull the wool over my eyes about it or should I call Toyota directly? Don’t want to be stuck spending $4k soon after I buy the truck (my luck) and the bypass not working if the ECM was flashed.

I can provide the VIN if someone who knows more information wouldn’t mind helping out.

    Thanks in advance

I believe the bypass still works. I think there was a thread on here I was just reading within the past week - I'll see if I can locate it for you. Also, may want to check for any signs of the cam tower leak.

    Thanks.

Toyota owners site says the ECM was updated/reflashed in 2015.
