I finally have something worth posting about here! I have a 2001 (4WD, Access Cab w/ 200,000 mi.) and it's my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. After perusing this forum for awhile I have learned quite a lot and would like to thank all of you! I haven't seen this recall brought up though and I thought it would be worth sharing.

I recently brought my truck in for a recall check and the dealership is going to fix my fuel tank straps. While there I asked them what they could do about the Load Bearing Proportioning Valve, lo and behold it's covered under recall! The shackle had broken off the mount which is what brought up the topic in the first place. They are fixing it for free (at least that's what they said), which I believe is a complete replacement of the valve and shackle. I will update this once I get my truck back later today. I have seen some posters looking for information on their LBPV and I hope this comes in handy for you as well. Also, I hadn't seen online any recalls on this so I was surprised about it.

    Welcome.

Thanks for posting this. Looking forward to the update when you get it back from the dealer.

I've never heard of this recall for our trucks. Interesting.

Update: Truck is still at the dealership, they are having a hard time getting the parts I guess.

recall on the LSPV? thats news to me... we dont really have issues with them unless it comes time to replace brake lines or need to bleed it for whatever reason (rust)
