Question: are Platinum seats more comfortable than Limited seats? My limited seats are 10yo now and starting to show their age. I also just got back from a vacation that was 1600 mile round trip. My butt was starting to tell me to get up, and that is new. Either I’m getting old or the seat just isn’t that great.

I’ve read that platinum seats are more comfortable but wanted to hear from you guys with experience. I can either get Katskinz for my limited seats or get used Platinums in good shape for about the same cost, front and back.

Platinum seats are more comfortable, they are real leather and also have the power thigh extender and that is great on long trips especially if you are tall. I’ve had both

I'd just get new Katskinz if I were you. Platinum definitely hold up better than the Limited in my experience. But if you can get something new vs used for the same price, get new. Katskinz are good quality.

For ten years I’ve sat in this seat thinking it isn’t as comfortable as the Chevy seat I had before (only nice thing about that turd of a truck). If it was more comfortable I would be 100% for getting the Katskinz. I’m only in the fence because if I do that I will also want to take the seat to a shop and have something done to make my backside happier.

A buddy of mine has had a limited for a long time and just the other day he jumped in my truck to listen to my stereo. All he could comment on was how much more comfortable my Platinum seats were!!!!
We barely listened to the stereo.

I have katskins and I also got myself a set of ‘seat jackers, it lifts the front of the seat, putting it in more of a cradling position. I’m 6’4 and all legs so this was really nice addition

I have a Limited and my wife has the Platinum Sequoia. The seats in the Platinum are more comfortable. Not only are the covers real leather, they are perforated so they allow a little air flow. Also, the shape of the seat is a little better. And, as someone else mentioned, there is an additional adjustment for the front of the seat.

I haven't understood these yet for those with power seats. I have power in my trd sport and I can raise the thigh section to essentially do exactly what these spacers do. Or am I missing something?

I think for some folks, the front adjustment doesn't go high enough to be comfortable, so they get those seat jackers. I dunno, my stock SR5 seats are plenty comfy for me.

    They recline the entire seat.
I certainly wouldn't want just the front of the seat lifted..

I have a power front seat.
The seat jackers were a great help in comfort.

After watching the video I think I might not want the perferated seats. Maybe the best option for me is to have the seat pan rebuilt with a little nicer foam and get a set of Katskinz.

I personally havent sat in a platinum. I do however have KatSkinz installed. I use to have cloth seats. For those of you that say the platinum are more comfortable, how? Does Toyota use a different foam than the limited and sr5 modles? After watching the video, from what he said, the leather in the platinum is softer than the limited. What I can't rap my head around is, if Toyota uses the same foam, then the covering shouldn't matter and if it does then cloth seat should be the most comfortable since it's the softest and most flexible.

I would gather that different foam is used between platinum and limited/sr5 to allow for the passage of the forced air/cooled seats. Limited leather is tough and gives a firmer tee-ball dugout bench feel to me. SR5 cloth is soft and as you suggest very comfortable.
I've driven a limited and was not a fan of the seats for the reasons mentioned above. I upgraded and got good leather to replace the cloth on my SR5 and much prefer that route vs the limited seats.

So for the OP, I'd imagine swapping the "limited" leather with Katskinz or equivalent would improve your comfort.

Yeah, didn't think of the vented seat and needing a different foam.

Can confirm the platinum seats are more comfortable than the limited seats .

The seats in my '14 Limited were like sitting on a milk crate, long trips were limited to about 8 hours before my a$$ had enough. My '19 Platinum seats are much better, I can drive 12-13 hours with no problems.

In my experience, premium leather is not as durable as the resin impregnated leather that you find in most vehicles and furniture. The better leather is softer and more comfortable, but wears faster.

As I mentioned above, I have the Limited and my wife has the Platinum Sequoia.
So, the leather aside, the platinum seats are overall softer to sit in. I would guess that both the foam pieces and the suspension (springs?) are different. Also, the shape feels different and fits me better. The difference is noticeable as soon as you sit in them.

If you have access to platinum seats then sit in one and see how it fits for you.
