So I will be installing an aftermarket front bumper soon that comes with a lightbar and a grill type protection plate for it and was wondering if anyone has ever used some clear poly carbonate or something similar to put over the front of the lightbar for extra protection from road/rocks/ debris, etc? Will it get moisture trapped in between it or get dirt trapped between it and the lightbar?

Rigid Industries makes covers for their light bars and pods and seems to be fine.

I'm sure a generic piece of lexan, polycarb would be fine. Moister shouldn't be a problem, only if it's in the light housing itself. Dirt and debris will probably get in but you can remove it and clean it.

Was thinking the same, but the lights that I got from Ironman that came with the bumper dont seem to have their own dedicated cover being sold. I have alot of poly carb sitting around and was thinking to put it to good use. The BD squadrons I got for ditch lights have their covers but for those i was more worried about cops hassling for offroad lights.

i imagine it will weather over time but mine has sat for 5 years in the spot the new tundra has theirs situated and it looks surprisingly good still. while the lenses are fine the surrounds on my rigid fogs has taken a dirty asswhooping though and need to be painted.

I was actually considering using a UV resistant spray coating to the housings of the lights im going to be putting for ditch lights. Of course, covering the lens.

Yeah im afraid of that happening on my squadrons, especially in the baking SoCal heat most of the year and my truck lives outside instead of the garage.

same thing here but a little of each. the occasionally mind-blowing cold of Canadian winter followed by 100 deg heat of summer.

How about Lamin-X film? You can get sheets in different odors and sizes.
