I bought a straight lightbar to mount on the front of my curved truck. Naturally the brackets are too small. Are there other brackets available for purchase out there? I'm trying the harbor freight light and they don't have other brackets. Now I either find some that will work or fabricate my own. I need them to extend 3.5 inches.

    Any thoughts?

i had a similar problem when installing an LED bar on my old tacoma. ended up making my own out of aluminum. wasn't terribly difficult (and i'm a total hack). here's a picture - hope that helps

I actually bought the 52" bar to go all the way across the front lower. So the brackets will mount into the steel bumper. About where this yellow line is showing.

I'm fabricating podiums out of 1-1/2"x 12"-Long x .120" 304 Stainless Steel Square Tube. Don't need much, maybe a couple of inches, just to raise the lightbar above license plate.

The idea is to make a cube (roughly a cube) with a cross-nut facing down to bumper and two hex nuts on top for lightbar brackets. Should be very sturdy, and won't rust. Will post an update here once done.

Anyone near College Station, Texas with a garage and a welder to help fabricate 2 brackets? I need a truck buddy it seems :)

Gotcha, so you're going to mount them onto the bumper caps?

    Some.
When you make brackets, make them wide enough to go the the back of the light. Add a second hole that you can tap to run a bolt through and make contact with a recess in the bar or fins. This will allow you to aim the bar and lock it in place. Otherwise, the bar WILL rotate out of aim.

Great advice! I was wondering if I would have to be tightening it down a lot :)

I just fabricated brackets for a light bar. Do like other have said and add a second hole to keep from rotating unless the light bar has a lot of surface area that come in contact with bracket. I’ve seen single bolt brackets that worked fine but they had teeth that meshed to keep light from rotating. If it’s anything like diode dynamites light bar it has to have two bolts on each side. Great job, those look nice. I just need the shop behind you to fabricate mine :)

it does help to have your own machine shop. You might want to look around your area for a small machine shop/fab shop If you just need something simple they may hook you up pretty cheap. There are a lot of hobby Machinest/welders out there now. A good place to check would be hobby groups for machine shops and welding on Facebook. See if anyone in your area can help you out. Some people just enjoy building stuff. Good luck.
