First, to thanks to those on this site who have already been so helpful. It really is a great resource for all things Tundra related. So great in fact, it's causing me to go crazy trying to decide which lift to choose for my 2018 SR5.
I love the looks of Tundras with a 6" lift but I don't think that's practical for me. I don't want the related issues with angles, cutting cross members, re-gearing because of larger tires. (35" just didn't look right on a 6" lift to me) etc... That plus I actually use the bed and I don't want to struggle loading/unloading things.
I've decided that a lift somewhere in the neighborhood of 3-4" with 35's is where I need to be.
But options seem unlimited. Many seem happy with a leveling kit. Not sure that's the best choice for me since I sometimes haul a load. I don't want it squatting when I do. I also want a reasonably comfortable ride afterwards.
I'm thinking the toytec boss kit with the add a leaf option might be just right.
Are there better options for the money? What are they?
Should I go ahead and purchase the upper control arms?
Thanks for the help and before anyone suggest I use the search function, I have read countless topics on here about this topic. I just need some opinions on which kit and why would be best for me based on your experience.
    Thank you.

Just my penny..... but who cares about 35s. 33s look almost as good and you don't have to do anything to go 33s. 33s will make you pop in out of 6th if you're towing but not bad enough to worry over. Stay 33s. Get the rear sway bar. Add air bags and forget about the leaf. You can use the money you save to get the RIMS you want. I'd rather see good rims than 2 inches of more tire.

I just did the 6112s up front on 2.5" and the 5100's on the back with the regular 1" block and I love it. Did BFG KO2s at 305/65r18 (33.6), and Fuel 18s at +1 offset and 5" backspacing. I think it's perfect for my truck and looks very balanced. Sure I could have gone bigger, but I love the way it sits now.

    ^ pics?

I'm gonna do wheels and tires at the same time I get the lift. I don't mind spending a little extra to get a quality product and ride but I certainly don't need Kings or anything like that. My truck is a daily driver that occasionally travels down a farm path deer hunting or fishing etc.

My 2 cents, everyone wants something. Do what you NEED, not what everyone has or wants. I wanted 35's, but not practical at all. I did a 5100's level in the front and new 33's. I went out of town this weekend and did between 80 and 100 mph with ZERO problems. Speedometer was correct within 1 mile an hour and truck looks good and is practical. I haul stuff too, every once in a while, so who cares if it squats the 4 times a year you tow. I do 90% on road and in town and maybe 10% off road. And......my tires were like 125 each, not 313 each....The bigger the tire, the more money you have to spend and continue to spend.

The less lift you add the better. I've raised the front just under 2" (stock height rear) and fit LT285/75R18 tires on stock wheels under full articulation.

Thanks. Looks good. I've got flares too. Running 1.25" spacers now. I want to get rid of the spacers. Gotta figure out what offset I'm gonna need too. Lol. Heads gonna explode.

Well I think what I got, fit it perfect and lined up really great with the flares. Like I said, it’s the +1, and has a 5” backspace. So it basically makes it stick out 1” more than stock. Then on 18s, the tires fill in nicely.

I’m very happy with my Bilstein 5100s, leveled with air in the back. It does exactly what I need. But that being said I love how the big lifts look, and will not rule it out one day down the road.

Tell me about the air... I've got a 2019 with dealer-installed TSS 20" rims with 275/55R20 mud Wranglers (31.9") and fender flares. On my two previous Tundras, I did 5100s on the middle setting with 32.1" 275/65R18 E-range ATs and it just looked right.

It’s just the Firestone ride rite kit, have had it on my last 4 trucks.

295/70/18 is a good compromise too. almost as tall as a 35 but narrower.

I went with Procomp 4" so that I could still fit in the garage, I tow often enough, and no crossmember cut. I love it! I think its the perfect height, and to me 22's with 35's with a 4" lift gives the appearance of the perfect amount of wheel/tire to wheel well look ratio IMO. Had I got a 6" I would have went with 37's to keep that wheel well ratio looking good. An actual lift is expensive so I had to save for it, but theres no way I was lifting my truck without a diff drop because on my last Tundra I started having rack and pinion problems that normally don't happen as soon as they did from what I'm told. Had it replaced and 10k miles later or so I felt the same thing about to happen so I traded the truck in haha. Bottomline, don't rule out a lift I think its well worth it.

Stock haha. Eventually I'm going to get the AirDesigns flares, just have to find a painter that can paint match them first.

I did ADS 3.0 shocks and MCM Fab UCA up front with ADS triple bypass shocks, Deaver U748 springs and MCM shackles in the rear. For tires, I went with 295/65-18 Duratrac (a little over 33s) on powdercoated TRD wheels.

I, too, like larger lifted vehicles but didn’t want to deal with some of the issues you mentioned. My build is just about what I wanted...I would try larger tires next to see how bad the rubbing will be. My 33” tires will do for now.

Spring for UCAs to make alignment possible.
