Hi Guys. I've been following the site for about a week now and this is my first post. I purchased from the dealer a 2019 TRD sport last week and at the last second I started pushing some free upgrades without doing a ton of research. The truck will be used for work and pleasure. I am up and down pipeline right aways all day for work so I figured getting a lift would be beneficial. So I had a couple of things added into the vehicle as extras.
The first was getting a 2.5 inch lift. I then asked for tires which will be 275 70 r18 BF ko2. I'm wondering what you guys think about this setup and if you would recommend getting spacers. From what I read I don't think spacers are needed although i think they would make the truck look better. I don't want the tires sticking out a ton and I like to be more practical than anything regarding performance and unnecessary strain on the vehicle. I don't have fender flares and don't like the look of them.
If anybody has a picture of this type of setup or any insight, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Welcome from SoCal!

If you are off-road for your job for the pipeline, I would stay away from any type of spacer lift, as your suspension will just not survive off-roading on spacers or blocks.

I probably don't know what I'm talking about here. I asked for a 2.5 inch lift. Should I just stay away from the spacers?

    Thanks!

If you want lift, look into Coach Builder shackles and good quality coil-overs for a good ride.

What sort of conditions will you be driving in at work on the pipeline? Is it 4x4 conditions? On dirt? Will your truck get a lot of articulation? Would help to answer those questions on how you could proceed.

Thanks for your help! I would say the truck wouldn't be in 4 by 4 much at all. Half the trucks are not lifted. But the odd time with articulation there's some scraping going on. Most of the driving would be country roads and highway during the winter. I would say the four by four would be needed most in deep snow and muddy conditions.

Definitely take a gander at some of the 3rd Gen. build pages and look at people's different lifts and applications, that would help narrow down. ToyTech has a great reputation! So does Fox and ADS Racing shocks/coilovers.

QUOTE="racin, post: 45598, member: 1659"]Just wanted to say thanks to the forum and all the fellas that helped me out...got my wheels mounted today..and for MTs the MasterCraft MXT is very quiet...2.5" spacer up front, Diff drop, 1" angled rear block, 20×9 KX -12(sticks out just right) with 35x12.5x20...there's little rubbing but I'll deal with that another time[/QUOTE]

This guy has a sweet sweet up. The tires that I ordered are different though. When I'm talking spacers I'm not talkin about lifting with spacers but how much the tire sticks out and if they're needed.

I have 35x12.5x20 and rubbed a little bit on reverse with stock bumpers. I have aftermarket bumpers now so don't get rub at all. It may depend on our wheel offset.

Ok... I think I just figured something out. I would like pretty much a flush offset for the wheels or just slightly poking out. Is this entirely dependent on the tires and rims?

Your wheel offset is what determines where the edge of the tires will sit in relation to the fender.

Thanks. I guess I won't know what it's going to look like until I see the truck.

I ran 275/70/18's on a front leveling kit. If you asked the dealer for a 2.5 lift, they will either use a leveling kit on the front or a spacer lift kit for the front and rear. I would assume just a leveling kit in the front given the tire size that you asked for. Customoffsets.com has a lot of pictures where you can search lifts and offsets to see what the look like. I run a 3/2 spacer kit (getting replaced at some point) on mine with a 285/70/18 on a 0 offset. That puts my tires just a very small tad outside if my Bushwacker flares.

Ranch Hand Summit front and rear bumpers. Diamondback SE tonneau cover. Rigid DOT fogs. LED headlight/fog replacement bulbs. Matt Gecko hood, and bed LED's. Foot well led's, and interior LED buld replacement. (warm) Broke the front shock of the 3" spacer lift, so replaced with 6112/5160 and 1' block rear. KO 2's. Speaker replacement, added amp and (2) 10's under seat. Weathertech floor mats. Salex organizers. Ziebart undercoating. RCI front, transmission/diff, and gas tank skids received, waiting for spring install. Compustar remote starter. front/rear dash cam.
I broke a stock coil over that had a spacer on a pipeline ROW. I am in the office most of the time so it doesn’t take much. I think it broke driving onto some timber mats. I went with Bilstein 6112 set at 1.9”. For the money I am very happy.
