Looking at front level kit/spacers. Any reasons to not do one?

going for looks and simplicity, I don’t tow, I do light off roading at times.

If you have one, post a pic!

I personally would do coil overs like the Bilstein 5100. I don't have my tundra leveled or anything but on my Silverado I had the spacer kit first and it was awful for ride quality. Then i switched to leveling coil overs and it was night and day difference. Also use the search bar top right and it will bring up all kinds of suspension mods.

I did bilstien 5100's on the middle setting, larger tires, and I'm very happy with how it turned out. It drives great.

When I was reading up, there were too many reports of spacers breaking under normal wear and tear.

So with that suspension kit, you can set the height?

does it require new upper control arms?

    Costs?

The 5100s have circlips that house a snap ring. The snap ring sets the height of the lower spring perch, and by raising it, you add preload to the spring and lift the truck.

You can typically set the snap ring in one of the 4 different circlips, and as you go up they usually provide an additional 0.75" (or thereabouts) of lift per circlip. So there will be 4 height settings you can choose: 0" (AKA stock height), ~0.75", ~1.5", and ~2.5".

Understand that changing the height requires removing the coilover from the truck and disassembling/reassembling it.

It doesn't require new upper control arms, but better allignment specs can be achieved with new upper control arms.

5100s usually run about $500-$600 without new springs.

    Is level around 2-2.5 inches?

Sounds like a good product over a block

Not really certain. Best bet would be to measure from the center of your wheel hubs to the bottom of the fender wells on all 4 corners. Note the difference from front to back and then lift the front accordingly to level it.

FWIW, I would err on the side of leaving some rake (the rear higher than the rear). I bought my truck used and it was leveled. Even a hefty Costco run was enough to make it squat, and look stupid.

Now lifted the rear 1.5" with an add-a-leaf, and it looks so much better.

Maybe I’ll wait for now, I just got new wheels and tires, all stock, except a slight poke to wheels. The tire guy said he would level it for a deal, but I’ll pass.
