Afternoon everyone. I bought a 2020 Tundra in October 2021 that had 9k miles on it from the local dealer so it has factory warranty plus extended drivetrain warranty, etc. from the dealer. Ready to start some mods and am looking at a leveling kit to raise the front end up to match the rear end. After consulting with a local reputable aftermarket shop for pricing on the leveling kit, installation, and some wheels and tires, I saw something online about leveling kits and warranties. I called the dealer where I bought the truck and sure enough, the guy I talked to said that "technically those modifications will void the warranty" unless installed by Toyota. Anyone else run into this problem?

They would have to prove, or better still YOU would have to disprove that any of the modifications caused any damage that generated a suspected warranty claim. People will quote the Magnuson Moss Act but if the dealer digs its heels in, you may get tied up in courts and finances trying to prove that the modification didn't cause the issue. The way around it is to have Toyota do the install and have them put it in writing that they approved the work. Pay a little more now for peace of mind in the long run....

Not sure if you're Canada or not, and not sure about Canada. If your level doesn't directly impact the specific parts warrantied, you're fine. E.g., if a cam tab breaks while they're trying to do an alignment, the level doesn't void any warranty attached to the part.

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing. For Toyota to get their mark-up and eliminating the potential warranty issues, it probably is not worth the argument.

I’ve had warranty work done recently with icon/bilstein suspension and body mount chopped on 35s and they didn’t say a word. Now If you put a big spacer lift on and then go in for blown out CVs or a bent shock or something might be a different story.
