Leveling 22 Platinum with AVS/Air

    Right on, thanks! After asking you and others and reading around, I think I will go with the preload westcott for my front and maybe the afe for the rear. I'm hoping to lift the whole thing an inch or so, but to still maintain a slight rake.

    Sounds like you are looking for the same build/stance as I was. Id suggest the Westcott Avs/air ride lift… they send their own assets for the rear air in the kit. I’ll send ya measurements soon.

    Yes I am. But somebody a page is so back. Seemed to think that the AFE version maybe had a centimeter or two lift higher than the westcott. Plus it is $70 cheaper lol.

    lol yeah that was me, I posted the image of both arms - full disclosure, I didn’t actually measure… it just looks slightly bigger … but fair enough on the price :)

    Ok so the digital measurement is Front: 23.5 center hub to fender, Back: 24.5 center hub to fender, 1.5—1.75 of poke with 35/12.5/18 tires with +18 offset.

    This may have been asked before, but does anyone know the biggest size tire you can fit on the 2022/2023 tundra 20" rims? That is, without modification etc.

    Not really. The avs sits a bit different than the non avs. I plan to put a leveling kit and the avs arms on it, but I want to know what size tire fits on the stock setup before I add height to it.

    In my experience with a rear air platinum with AVS: 285/60/20 fits with zero modifications…. 295/60/20 ‘may’ work with just a simple pin back of the front fender liner.

    Yep - the rear air ride and the air ride with AVS are definitely a different animal - they can be challenging if you think updates are as simple as the other suspensions … lol… a bit of a PIA :)

    yes - but they are the Westcott arms. Give me about an inch of rake.

    Thanks. I got my 2023 mag grey 1794 today. I maxed out the stock arms. I will measure tomorrow and post the stock height from middle of hub to fender.

    As you had said before, looks like the afe might give a tiny bit of more height than the westcott. I might do the westcott preload collars for the front and the afe arms for the rear.

    I haven't heard anything yet. Though, for those of us that drive AVS equipped vehicles there may not be an answer coming. Our only option is to unplug it if we choose to do a strut/coilover upgrade... it will just need to be disconnected and cease to function with the type of add-on. As for the rear air aspect of things, I know that is still I the works at Icon (or so they told me). Someone else may have more updated info but that is my understanding currently. There are a few kits out there now from Fabtech and Ready-Lift that are designed to work with a Rear-air system but again... it means deciding to disconnect your AVS controls in the front. It all depends on what you are hoping to do. My goal was to lift the vehicle to get a bit more height, keep everything as stock as possible, fit a 35 inch tire cleanly, and try and maintain as much ride quality as I could. I chose Westcott because it was an all in one package specifically designed to work with the AVS and it was a cost effective solution that kept the vehicle stock. It can be removed easily if needed and didnt require any permanent changes. I also kept as much of the ride quality as possible (I know people on here complain about the choppy ride of a Westcott, but we (AVS owners) don't have a lot of options, and I truly don't feel like its THAT much different than stock). Yes, a full suspension upgrade is ALWAYS better but with the AVS (unless something crazy comes out) we just dont have that option. **to my knowledge**

    I measured mine with the stock brackets maxed out. Mine was with a tape measure so give or take a tiny bit lol. The driver to passenger side difference was negligible.
    Front: 21 3/8
    Rear: 23 1/8

    With your 1.5" gain in the back, where were your stock levers sitting before you changed them? Were they maxed out or middle or what?

    Westcott says it is a 7/8" lift and afe says it's a 1.625" lift. But neither say from what starting point. My guess is Westcott is saying from maxxed out whereas are is probably stating from the factory which for most should be about middle of the way (yes, some people have different, but most should be mid).

    I'm running into the problem with companies like rough country and others with the spacer leveling kit, where they say it does not work with AVS. I do not have the tools or space to put them on myself, and most garages/4 wheel parts places will not go ahead and put them in if the manufacturer says it doesn't work with it.

    Has anyone else had this issue? I know I can go with westcott, which it looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet on the cost and do, but just curious.
