You may or may not have heard of this sport. I am not much into sports myself, except this one. It is only played, as far as I can tell, in one city in all the world. Florence.

    Is it Rugby? No.
    Football? No.
    MMA? No.
    Soccer? No.
    Calicio Storico! SI!

This sport pulls in a little of everything above but with much more intensity.

From what I have been able to tell, they are not paid. They play for the pride of their section of the city. If you are born in Florence, you are tied to your team, no matter if you move to another section or not.

There are very few rules. No wimpy whining, "He pulled my shirt!! Wa wa" type reactions.

To understand the game, here is a good overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1PkbsYLXUo

This year went much like I expected it, but the finality was absolutely intense. Watch the final and you can see!

If you speak Italian, you can listen. I can pick up a few things here and there, but I usually watch with the sound off.

But, since this is a sport section, I thought I would introduce you to probably the hardest game I have ever seen. Perhaps one day I will be able to visit such a beautiful city and watch a game live.

Until then, I enjoy watching online.
