Hey everyone! Certainly not my first rodeo on upfitting vehicles with lighting and radios. Just trying to decide how I want to layout the auxiliary power setup on my non-hybrid.

Thinking I’m going to make a nice tray for the engine compartment to house my charge guard, power distribution, relays, and fuse block. Was hoping folks that have done the same can drop some inspiration pics.

    thanks!

Where would your house battery be located in your plan?

I have no need for a house battery, no crazy power draws. I’m not doing an overland build, just a daily driver. All auxiliary lighting, CB, VHF/UHF, and emergency lights/equipment (Vol. Fire/EMS).

I've been without my truck for about 8 weeks at this point, so I have a pile parts and nothing to install them into.

My plan is to switch over to the SDHQ battery terminals, a single MRBF fuse holder that will then send power to a BlueSea SafetyHub 100 (mounted on an ABS plastic bracket secured to the OEM battery tie down).

SafetyHub100 will power an ARB dual compressor and the DC-DC charger, as well as a few other accessories under the hood (horn relay, CANM8 IDR8-R CAN decoder, and relay power for the CANM8 high beam output)

I've been quite happy with making brackets for electrical components out of ABS lately as it's easy to cut and super easy to re-shape using a small butane heat gun, but strong enough to hold up to rough use (I use 1/4" ABS sheets).

DC-DC charger will be mounted under the cab on the frame rail, and everything else for the aux-battery will live under or behind the rear seat.

I can add pics... But who knows when I'll have a replacement truck

Does the plan include components like master breaker/fuse and switch? What is the route for grounding?

Yes, there will be a breaker to protect everything as well as individually fused circuits….. Have yet to determine where I want to place a grounding buss, and if I’m going straight to battery or not.

Again, the whole point of this thread was to try and get inspiration from other folks on their layout (including grounding routes) and determine how I want to do mine.

Similar to you, but used BlueSea marine components, and Hella weatherproof replays (for things which need 'em).
