I'm looking to upgrade to leather seats.
Anyone regret not buying the seat cooling/heating system vs just heat? or vice versa or any regrets in general when buying/installing the aftermarket systems or seat heaters. Maybe even just the switches or locations.

Depending on where you live, I have both in my truck and I can say they are both good. The cooled seats is just a fan which is nice but nothing better in the cold than warm leather. I could do without cooled seats but not the heat

I installed warmers and they are great even in the summer when my back is feeling the miles.
Not sure about the coolers but the factory ones in my wife’s old highlander were worthless.

Here is my switch placement. Did the same in my last Tundra and wonder how long it was before the next owner found them.

Thanks for the replies, these are the type of things I was looking for in feedback.
I originally wanted black leather with insert perforations, but I'm leaning towards lighter colors. My daily has heated leather, light tan perforated inserts, and stays outside and the heated seats are a plus in cold weather. I feel like I can get by without cooling but wouldn't mind having it, but as long as I have good a/c maybe that's all I need.

It would have been nice if Toyota had supplied knockouts similar to the ones I had on my '16 4runner in the console.

The factory Tundra seat coolers in my 2020 are an absolute joke. Definitely don't spend money on the OEM ones. Not sure if there is an aftermarket option that is better.

The heater is good though, just barely ever use it down here in the armpit of America.

I installed Clazzio leather seats a little while ago. Should have probably pulled the trigger on their heated seats at the same time but didn't. The Clazzio's fit is very close to OEM leather and their heater can sit on the fabric seat between underneath their leather cover so you don't have to remove any fabric. Seems like a more straightforward install as a result. I think I'll be ordering the heaters soon.

Thanks for the replies. I would hate to think what they would want for an OEM seat cooler retrofit $$$$. I have seen pictures of some of the Clazzio installs and they look good.

My tundra has both OEM seat warmers and coolers. The seat warmers are worth it for sure, I love remote starting my truck on cold mornings knowing I'll be sitting in a warm seat when i get in lol. The coolers are almost wrorthless....I definitely wouldn't pay to install OEM ones. They only blow cabin air through the seats and the fan is so weak you can barely feel the air moving through it.....I would pay good money for someone to come out with an aftermarket kit that piped in A/C air and had a more powerful fan. If you have ever been in a GMC Seirra with cooled seats it will freeze you out, wish Toyota could do the same.

One of my requirements for my vehicles is cooled seats. Ram will make you cool off quickly and forget they are there. Ford will make your nuts shrink quickly. Tundra.... I am still not convinced that button does anything. Ok, it works but I only notice it when I leave it running while i do something and get back in.

As a Florida man, I rarely use heated seats. But when I need them... I love them!

My point, do what your budget can stomach and if you can, go aftermarket. Clazzio is great, Katskins is better, OEM is preference. I would go OEM for the coolers, but I would try to wire to an oem switch.

Good luck and I will be following a long as I will most likely be refreshing mine in a couple of years.

I installed Katzkin leather in mine and I'm happy with them. I was thinking of going perforated but decided against them because anything spilt ends up in the seat foam. Also if your thinking of a light seat color the perforations will hold dirt and you can see all the holes.
