    Okay so I have a complaint that my Alignment cam bolt/nut keeps coming loose

    it’s the one with the long bolt/nut and sleeve that sits closest to the back of the car

    when it gets loose it starts making a little pop sound when going over uneven surfaces

    I have climbed under there and tightened a few times and it goes away for a while and comes back

    Does anybody know the nut size/pitch?

    Im thinking I’ll torque the heck out of them and double nut it to keep from backing off

    The alignment shop is dumb they say nothing’s wrong,but have anti seized everything which i think is part of the issue

    I thought about getting new bolts and hardware for both sides but that’s a chunk of change compared to a simple nut

    I don't think you would want to buy that nut from HD anyway. You might get some Grade 2 Chinese junk (no pun intended).

    Toyota may use a Stover or prevailing-torque lock nut for that application. This type of locking nut has a distorted thread pattern on the top of the nut. Once the lock nut is torqued, the distorted thread will clamp against the bolt thread preventing the nut from vibrating loose. In some critical applications, Toyota will recommend that prevailing-torque lock nuts be replaced as a non-reusable part if they have been removed. It's probably time to do that on your adjustment cam bolts.

    Check with @Roman or your favorite dealer for the part number and specified torque. My efforts to find the part number failed.

    @JohnLakeman

    Thanks for the input

    I will investigate further

    It may be the case that a simple nut replacement will be the fix

    @Vizsla

    Do you have any input? I see your input in other suspension Threads (Moog Cam Kits) about cam bolts and have quoted below.

    I have had many alignment on vehicles over the years and haven’t had to replace cam nuts before

    I didn’t have my vehicle on ramps, it was on the ground when i crawled under it so I didn’t have a lot of space.

    I got it torqued to 150ft-lb or thereabouts and it lasted a day or two before making sounds again

    Maybe I need to get it on ramps and get it torqued even more?
