My 2018 SR5 DC, lacks any ooomph when it comes to moving air to the floor. In fact, even with floor heat ONLY selected, there is more air flow coming out of the dash vents?? So, I close the dash vents which helps but not much. My 2008 SR5 DC was similar but not as bad as this. Anyone else have this issue?

    Thanks

Plenty of air comes out of the floor for me, but Toyota dropped the ball on their A/C ability. It’s ice cold in the summer and burns my hair off in the winter, but it’ll blow out of the vents/floor no matter what you select.

Same thing here. I actually got underneath to check the two vents on drivers floor to see if obstructed somehow. Both moving hot air, but not like it should imo. So I keep the slector knob at the 1/2 way setting between floor and floor/defrost. Not an issue after truck warms up really...but should be better. No bare feet drivin for me in Eastern Canada I guess...

Mines the same. I also had to look under it to see if the vent was blocked. Was going to ask about it at my next service, but I guess it’s normal.

I was just wondering the other day if I was the only one who was having this issue. I almost always leave my setting to Floor, but noticed I was still getting enough dash air to think there was a problem.

I'm coming up on my 6 months/5000 mile check, I'll inquire then and pass along any feedback. Of course, we all know it will be the standard issue bullsh*t that dodges the problem.

The back floor vents are a bad design...way too easy for small items to get dropped in and lost forever.

This so much. Vents should be coming from the side pointed down coming slightly up

Back floor vents? I have two vents in the back behind the center console, but where are they back floor vents located?

The tundras airflow is definitely lacking. My wife’s Camry on full blast is insane how much air it moves. My tundra on full blast is pathetic at best.
I’ve pulled out the cabin filter before and tested it. It did get noticeably stronger. But wasn’t willing to keep the filter out permanently

Also, with the fan off and recirculator off, who gets airflow through the vents while driving? When I turn the recirculator on, it stops though.

OP, what is the status of the cabin air filter? I didn't see it mentioned.

I get the same. Have to turn on recirculator to stop air flow. Probably the only thing I just really can't stand on my Tundra, the vent system blows.

Yes, with fan and recirc OFF, AND dial set to Floor, I still get air blowing through dash vents:frusty:

Like a few here, I thought it was just my truck doing this. Oh well, probably nothing that can be done.

Drives me crazy, but what really chaps my ass is I tested this morning on floor only, recirculate set to “on” and I’m still getting air out of the dash vents.. and not just a little bit. I closed the vents and still feel it pouring out meanwhile my feet aren’t doing shit.

Yup, it sucks. It seems worse in my 2018 than my 2008.

I've noticed this as well. I am assuming since everyone says they have the same experience that this is the way Toyota designed it and there isn't any reason to mention it to the dealer during service, yeah?

I would consider this normal compared to any other hvac ayatsy I've experienced.

With the recirc off, air will flow into the cabin.

I have not noticed any gripes with my 2018, but I will say the volume of air that is moved through the vents definitely seems to lack compared to my other vehicles.

Any chance, OP, that there could be a rodent nest of some sort in the floor part of ducting? Little bastages can get everywhere.
