I understand labor costs vary from state to state. What are you guys paying for your 6112/5160 setup and coach builder shackles to be installed? I am in Dfw Texas and so far i have received quotes from 550 to 950 including alignment. Is this inline or high in your opinion?

Seems high to me..:notsure:. But you can save on installing yourself then get the alignment.

I had my 5100's installed along with a TRD swaybar and alignment for 420 out the door. Figure 5100's might be a little more timely due to having to break apart the coilover to put the 5100's in.

I'm sure theres plenty of guys in DFW who would help you out for the cost of beer and pizza.

Hell, You could spend $100 on gas and bring it to Austin and I'd help.

Seems a bit high to me. Where did you get your quotes? Walton’s Total Car Care in Waxahachie quoted me $200 to install pre-assembled 6112s. I thought that was a bit high, but then again the shop has to pay rent, mechanic’s salary, insurance, hydraulic lift, pro-grade tools, etc., so maybe that’s fair. Even so, I ended up doing it myself in my apartment parking lot with regular hand tools.

I haven’t done anything to the rear, much less coachbuilder shackles, but I’ve done a few rear suspensions on other vehicles. I’m guessing shackles shouldn’t be too hard and that labor should be less than an hour.

As for an alignment, Firestone charged me $200 for lifetime alignments. I waited a few days after installing the 6112s for them to settle, then took them in. I took it in again about two weeks later in case they may have settled some more. For a one-time alignment, I’m guessing slightly less than a hundred would be fair.

I had my dealership do mine. 6112's not pre assembled, 5160 rear, new tires, icon/deaver leaf expansion, and alignment and it was $550ish

How are you liking the daily ride of the 6112s?

I’ve heard good things about Goode’s although I’ve never used them.

I’ve had them on for about a year and maybe 20K miles. So far they ride great compared to the stock coilovers. I assembled mine at the 1.9” setting for what it’s worth. I have no other aftermarket coilovers to compare them to, but I really like them.

I’m liking the cooperative helping spirit on here! It’s about time North TX locals started helping each other. In the other local off-road and vehicle-specific clubs I’ve belonged to, folks would routinely (at least once a month) setup “wrench-a-thons” at someone’s home garage or driveway and help install or fix stuff. That’s mainly how I learned how to do my own wrenching. I’d offer my place, but I’m now in an apartment complex and having to look after a young toddler and his older brother while my wife works weekends.

My dad paid $500 for Toyota Dealership to do his 6112s on his 4Runner (same basic concept as the Tundra). I wish I had installed it for him as I would have saved him $500. I'd say $500 with alignment sounds fair, anything more is excessive. It's an easy job, I'm getting pretty good at the no spring compressor method :)

I'd ask how much without shackle install, if you can press the bushings out I'd do it yourself. That may be adding a lot of cost as they probably don't do those very often, and quote high or by the book.
