I want to go all out on shocks have read other posts. Either 2.5 kings with tc uca or 3.0 kings. Other than that what one is a better choice to have novice shops around here install. I know the 3.0 has had rubbing issues with one guy on here.

What does go all out mean? You have a lot of money? If yes go long travel like some have mentioned but LT is very expensive, you can buy another truck with LT money. 2.5’s work well for me, speeding through desert roads they’ve performed well comfortable ride on and off road. 3.0’s hold more fluid and are more adjustable as far as valving, but 2.5’s are more than enough for the weekend off-roader. Save your money, put it towards better leaf pack, UCA and bump stops if you’re staying mid travel.

Mid sounds good. Want 3.0 kings but don’t want any problems with places in Wyoming installing them. They seem like they gave another guy on her trouble before and he did it all himself

this. 3.0s up front are overkill for what 99% of the people on this site will do with their truck. 2.5s with 700lb springs and either TC or Camburg arms will cover you just fine. put 3.0 bypasses in the back as they have a built in hydraulic bump stop and get yourself a solid leaf pack (deaver or custom alcan).

    install yourself. it isn't difficult.

If you arent doing any major offroading, or big overland trips a 2.5 shock will do you all the justice you need. If you opt for the adjusters you have that much more adjustment on the fly as well. I can have a quote for you with shipping in a few seconds. but don't spend on something you wont see the potential of. The kit i posted above is an UCA paired with a 2.5 coilover and gets you roughly 9" of wheel travel. That will satisfy any daily driven trucks needs with mild offroading thrown at it.

Here is a link to our midtravel kit builder. It will let you play around with multiple options to get a feel for what your budget will allow. Once you figure out a package, just shoot me an email and I can quote shipping with an additional discount for being a forum member.

    http://stores.mcmfablv.com/07-tundra-mid-travel-package/

I have worked hand in hand with ADS to develop a lot of different options for the tundras. Our kit has an industry leading 12.5" of wheel travel, as well as geometry designed to help the tundras not only drive better, but align with good numbers and tire clearance.

Feel free to shoot me an email or call if you have any further questions.

fck that go full long travel front and rear and have some fun. only got one life homie, live it haha

$20-25k for full long travel front and rear and supporting mods depending on the shop you choose. Price can get up to $35k if you want links and modified front coil bucket

I’ve made my decision on 6112/5160 billsteins, icon tubular deltajoint uca, diff drop, carrier drop, and deaver pack. Now can somebody point me to a dealer that I can get all of these items from please.

Before you buy, research the icon tubular uca’s a lot. I remember many guys having poor alignment luck with them

I just installed icons 3.0 front with icon tubular About 3 months ago
I’ve done a couple of 400 mile road trips some dirt
Truck rolls straight no alignment issues
    Icon 2.5 rear w/bump stop
option 3 springs from them as well springs have been on for a year
    Springs alone great improvement
Also get shackles, tie rod ends, and shims from @Coachbuilder1
Only issue I had was front sway bar rubbed on bottom shock cup removed it

This is what I run but with mcm ucas. Look into adding some wheeler super bumps up front and rear unless you wanna pony up for hydro bump stops

You can buy from downsouth motorsports, sdhq, bilstein, toytec.
The icon delta uca’s are good from what ive heard, less maintenance than the uniball uca’s
I have the king 2.5 with camburg uca and toytec rear shackles, the ride is smooth as butter.
Im not a fan of the tc uca’s cause the top protrudes up.
The wheeler bump stops are really good, those are next for me.
King 3.0 is too much for most people.
The ads set up from mcm is great and allows for more travel than most systems.

I agree with some bits, the places you can buy. But I don’t agree about 3.0’s being more than most people need. I’ll agree, IF you’ll be mall-crawling, you don’t need 3.0’s..., but if you’ll play on any dirt— rock-crawling or getting any speed on dirt, even fire roads— our trucks are very heavy, so 3.0’s are the way to go. As for Wheeler’s, I have ‘em and they’re fine with mid-travel. My opinion.

2.5s on The Truck have been working just fine. Shocks temps never above 170f, fluid is rated for 450f
