I have a kicker key amp with all the wiring connections for a plug and play non JBL.
I took it out of a 2017 Tundra before I traded it in.
Sounds great for a low cost option.
Easy install and I got it from Crutchfield.
    175.00 shipped continental USA.

So, does this just increase power down your oem wiring or did you have you run new speaker wire?

I didn't run any new speaker wire, used what was there, I didn't see a need for new wire.
I did add some different speakers though.
Very easy mod with a lot of videos on how to do it.
I hope this answers your question.

Interesting. Let me throw a couple more questions at you. Was this in a cm or dc and does this make a difference. Was it pushing all 4 speakers or just fronts. What speakers were you running with it? I currently have a jl500 sub amp and 10” in my cm. I would like to add better door speakers with my oem nonjbl head unit. Am I looking the right direction with this.

I think you're in the right direction as long as it's for the speakers only. It was in a CM, shouldn't matter, can't remember the speakers I had, maybe infinite.
This would be perfect for what you are doing.
It will amp front and rear speakers if you want I had both F&R hooked up.
