Keyfob Size

Hi guys,

On the 2022 Tundra keyfob is it the same size of previous Tundra or Tacoma trucks? If not I was wondering if you guys can get me the dimension size length and width and depth. I am thinking of making a case to block the RFID signal well try to. I know I would have to remove it so I can unlock and start it. I guess they might be able to get the signal.

I have had my garage broken into, some kids use some garage door relay to open them. Our neighbor hood got attacked. I forgot I had a spare key in my 4runner they stole it lucky I found it parked some apartment, called the cops got it back no damage to the 4runner they said I got lucky. I do have cameras system now which will help but if they wear hoods covering there face not so much.

I read some stories on this forum some trucks got stolen. Even seen some news people getting there vehicles stolen. I don't have the truck yet it just taking some steps to be ready whenever I get my truck. I'm planning to make a box for the house I can put my keyfob in and block the signals when I'm home.

What steps you guys take for your keyfob from being copped? I know I read you can shut off the keyfob for sending the signals.

They are definitely not the same size. They are bigger for sure. My truck is getting chrome delete and window tint done so I cannot measure the size. My best guess is 3 inches by 2 by 1 deep. This is the best answer I can give right now. They are the same FOB's as the newer RAV4/4Runner/Camrys with push button start. Multiple venders are selling sleeves for the fobs on Amazon already.

If you are worried about an RF hack via the key fob you have two options. RF shield box or turn the key off at night. I personally do the second option as I’m walking into the house.

To turn off the key-
Press and hold the lock button then press unlock twice and you’ll see the little red light flash a couple times. The key is now off and not pinging out to the truck. You can confirm it by grabbing a door handle to see if the truck responds.

To turn the key back on-
Press unlock and the key is active again

My spare is turned off as well so it’s not in the house pinging away wasting battery
