Hey all. Does anyone know if you can on board a new key fob with out a locksmith or dealer. I’m trying to be cheap and avoid the 150 dollar programming fee. It’s 2008 tundra. Thanks all

I am a DIYer and I looked at some of the options online.... like Tom's key where they send you a programmer, but it wasn't that cheap. I wound up going to a local key shop (Busy Bees Locks and Keys) and they set me up with a one piece flip key/FOB for about $200 out the door. Since then, I installed Toyota Techstream on an old laptop so I would probably try to use that to program, but $200 was not bad. Mine is a 2008 too. Matt

+1 to Toyota Techstream. Pick up the cheapest copy from Amazon and install it on whatever old Windows laptop you can find. You'll use it for other stuff too, like changing various hidden settings.
