    Hey all,
2007 Tundra- keypad stopped working. Replaced the battery, still doesn't work.
Called a locksmith to reprogram it. He did his procedure, his tablet showed "programming successfull" but the remote still does not work. He repeated the process with a new key fob, same outcome.
Doors lock/unlock manually just fine, truck starts up just fine, but the keyless lock/unlock does not work.

Any idea what else I could check?

    Thank you

When you unlock the driver side door with the key, shoul all doors unlock? Mine only unlocks driver side door. I thought I read something about all doors should unlock. I'll keep digging for the thread

I had a 2007 and same thing happened. Was told it was the actuator that’s in the driver side door. Could be master one that controls all 4 doors or might have to replace actuator in all 4 doors? Price was crazy to have it done so I just lived with it. Someone told me if you were handy and with YouTube videos you could do it yourself. Good luck hope this helps?

My dad has an identical truck to mine. 2007 silver double cab lol. I switched our driver side door/window master switch, no change. I guess I can look into finding an actuator and swap it out. I am confident I can fo it myself, Id just hate to swap it and have the same issue. Thanks for the response.

Don't want to lead you down the wrong patch but this is what a Toyota service tech told me and when he gave me the price to fix I said "your crazy". The research I did was showing the actuator was inside door panel not in the door lock switch. Again hope this helps

I appreciate the info Chad22. I'll look into the door actuator when I get some time.

You can replace just the motor inside the door actuator, that’s the part that goes bad. I’ve done it several times, took about 2hrs the first time I did it. Now can do it fairly quickly. The motors are like $10 or so

Here’s a YouTube video I used to help me do it

I think I remember reading somewhere that turning the key once just unlock driver door but then if you turned it a second time it would unlock all doors.
I can’t remember if that was for the 1st gen or 2nd gen tundras though

That is the way my 2008 works. One turn, drivers door, two turns, all doors.

Thank you for the info. So even though my door locks work manually, this motor can affect the keyless lockt/unlock? I can definitely do this replacement, ive done it on a few other vehicles. Thanks a bunch for the suggestion!

I had the same problem on my 2008 dc,I think. I tried to reprogram the new fob multiple times, I then realized that my old fob was in the truck with me and still had the battery in it, I removed the battery from the old fob and tried reprogramming the new fob and it worked, never have had any problems maybe that might be your case.

if it’s just a single door not unlocking I’d say could be motor but I highly doubt all 4 motors all went bad at one time

it seems like a remote/programming issue

are you trying to program the remotes yourself or did you bring it to locksmith/dealer and they couldn’t get the new fob to work?

Interesting. I only have one key and key fob for this truck. Shoot. Thanks for the suggestion.
All doors unlock from the inside or if I unlock with the key. If I unlock twice with the key from the driver door, all doors unlock. Just cant get the key fob to work. Had a locksmith reprogram it, no luck. He tried a new key fob, no luck.

that’s odd. If the doors are unlocking with the key then it’s not the door lock actuators not working

I’d either bring it to the dealer to get a new fob and programmed (but thatll probably be $$$) or maybe consider just getting an aftermarket alarm/remote start installed

Had a bad remote on one of my prior vehicles. Popped open the remote and found that one of the solder points for the battery connections had corroded from carrying key/remote in pants pocket. Re-soldered the tab and all worked fine again. I guess us guys sweat through our pockets and create issues !;)

Did you ever figure out the problem? Im running into the same situation where key fob isn’t working, I bought a new one and it don’t program. Door locks/unlock inside from the door but can’t use key fob.
