Can a 2007 tundra key fob be programmed without going to the dealer, I've been told yes and no. I'm having problems w/ my FOB, changed the battery (twice) cleaned it w contact cleaner and it still works about every 5th time. Question about programming w/o dealer, I have a couple other toyota FOBs would like to program them if possible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ray
Where is the sensor on the truck located?

You can do it with techstream and a windows laptop. Not sure which OS for windows but I think there is a certain one.

I think locksmiths can as well, worth a call to see

edit: 2007, not sure where the sensor is

    Thanks Taco-Spike, I wish I had a copy.
Does anybody know if there is a way it can be done by the owner?

Yes. A web search will bring up the procedure.

    Audiowise, Thanks!
I watched tube with several being programmed but none are 2007 models. The only 2007 i could find was accomplished w a code reader. Several say it will work w 2007 but what they are all showing is never a 2007. I've tried their procedures (door open, key in out, lock unlock....) more than 5 times with three different remotes w/o success.
Has anyone w a 2007 ever been able to make this work? Really appreciate the help.

Having tried this with my 2007, I haven't been successful with any of the ways that don't use a laptop running Techstream. None of the "key in, out, door open/close, etc..." methods work for 2007-on.

You have to use the programming software- either you or the dealer / locksmith, etc..

The list of steps will work but it's not super easy to do. It may take 5-10 tries to get it to work properly.
