So a few months ago I installed a kenwood ddx9902s via maestro rr. The mic that came with the kenwood is pretty terrible. The cord was just long enough to reach the drivers side sun visor area which is were i stuck it. People get really annoyed when they call me in the truck because they say it echos alot and they can hear themselves more than they can hear me. Today I found a 3.5mm extension cable and ran the mic up and into the OEM location, I'm hoping thos fixes the problem. I tried adjusting some setting in the calling screen, such as echo level, and some other setting. The stock BT phone feature was perfect and I loved it, I'm pretty disappointed with the kenwood BT calling /mic

Anyone have similar issues and a fix? Thanks

I have a keenwood not the same model.but no issues. I wonder if its something with the mic its self. You may have to change it. Other then that I would call there customer service and see what they say.

I did mess with the mic eq settings a little but will read up on that link you provided, thanks for that. I was thinking the same thing as far as echo and feedback from the dash speakers. I hope to get thos pinned down and fixed.

I have the Kenwood DMX905S and have not heard any complaints from people that I talk to. Here is where mine is mounted. Plenty of cable length as well.
