So I just had a Kenwood DNR1007XR installed in my ‘18 SR5. I had SiriusXM and navigation out of the factory. When I picked-up the truck, the new HU says “Check Tuner” when I click on the SiriusXM button. Also, on a side note, it no longer displays the road name on the gauge cluster screen like it used to. I’ll attach pictures of everything that I brought to the installer to have installed. I’m thinking it may be a problem with the Maestro s TO2 kit, since that seems to be used to retain the Toyota satellite radio and GPS. Maybe they forgot to install it? I’m taking it back tomorrow but I just want to see if anybody else has run into this kind of problem before.

I just bought the Kenwood DMX1057xr, Haven't installed it yet. From what I thought I understood was the Head Unit is XM ready. Turns out it is compatible with a SiriusXM satellite radio tuner. So Apparently Captain Nemo is correct! I'm gonna pass on mine for now, hopefully I-heart has some good stations, I plan on installing a fire stick to the hdmi port like some others have done. Let us know how it turns out.

No, not yet. I'm going to see if it sounds decent with just the new HU. Plus, the wife will kill me if I spend anymore on this money-pit of a truck right now haha

I have a Kenwood Excelon DMX906S with the SiriusXM SXV300V1 Tuner.
In all honesty, I don't use my external XM tuner anymore, I run the app off my iPhone thru wireless Carplay.
It isn't as easy to navigate the app as the tuner, but the signal is much cleaner from the internet than thru the satellite.
    Better sound IMHO.

I only keep the tuner in case I get somewhere that has poor cellular service.
I've yet to find that spot and I drive from Dallas to Natchitoches daily.

Give that a try before buying and installing the XM tuner.

When I upgraded mine to a Kenwood head unit I initially swapped the Nav and the Sirius antennas. Of course neither worked. The plugs look the same from the harness on the truck. My truck is a 2014.

I was actually considering this. The satellite can be spotty sometimes. Thanks!
