Tech12Volts/Taylor's Audio Sound System: Kenwood DMX1057XR head unit, Infinity Reference 5-ch amp, Hertz CK165L front, Hertz K170 rear, 2 JL Audio W0 10" subs in ported box behind seat, bass knob.
I have heard that those improve the sound over stock, but if you upgrade your front 6x9's to a good component set which will include tweeters, that the sound is too bright and "in your face" when combined with the dash corner speakers so the recommendation is to just disconnect them once you upgrade the door speakers.

You use the same channels running the FR/FL speakers.
What it does is move the sound stage up and forward. There are other speakers as well that can be put in there depending on how you want to blend with current sound. I used more of a full range speaker.
Requires a little harness work if you have a JBL.

Which speakers did you use there? I would love to actually use that area if I found something that improved the sound and didn't just make it brighter but the stock ones are disconnected right now.

I installed new component speakers in the doors with an amp, head unit and subs and just disconnected the dash and center speakers.

I have these with Hertz K170's in the front and rear doors driven by an Infinity Kappa 5 amp and the combo is too bright unless I make adjustments in the DMX 1037S HU. I have the front channels turned down -3dB and there's an additional tweeter attenuation adjustment for the front channels that allows me to turn down the tweeters an additional -2dB. Now it sounds perfect but often wonder if it just sounds like it would with just the K170's...

AudioFrog GS25 with a bass blocker capacitor(just as a safety) from Crutchfield. Warmed it up and brought the sound stage up and forward. There are a few other mid-range/full-range that will work there also without modification to install. I would also suspect a warmer tweeter would have similar effect.

I don't know what you mean? You're trying to adjust the screen so it's as close to the dash as possible? Just follow the directions in the manual - I think there are four screws but I believe it can only be done (or at least it's easier and I always adjusted it) outside the dash.

Yep, good sound solution as well, probably slightly better. Didn't go that route as I utilized existing wiring/plugs and didn't have to fish new speaker wire through doors.

There are a lot of nice choices once you step up to a 3 way crossover setup. So audison, morel, focal, audiofrog, hetz all make quality products. It really comes down to preference. Lots of varying opinions/reviews to do your own homework.
