    Hey Gang,

Is there a way to turn the truck off but keep the radio on? I noticed that if the truck is running and you open the door there is an MID message that allows you to keep it running etc. But that requires you to open the door.

But how can you keep the radio on when you shut off the truck and just sitting there? Just like we used to have when we had a physical key.

Yes agreed. I guess I should have restated that I was wondering if there was a way to do this without having to hit the button again. I think the answer is no.

If it’s like previous Toyotas you should be able to put it in neutral, hit the engine off button and it’ll go into ACC mode, and then put it into park. After that to shut the truck off fully though you’ll have to cycle to ON then off.

I know it all seems petty and I agree. Just wanted to know if there was a way and I didn't know of it. No problem. Ill just hit the button to turn the truck off then again to turn acc on.

You can put the truck in neutral (or leave it in drive), shut the truck off and the radio will stay on even after shifting to park. Radio will stay for about 10 minutes and automatically shut off. The radio will stay on even when you open the door.

It probably goes without saying, but when you shut the truck off, then hit the start button once to turn on ACC, don't have your foot on the brake, or else the engine will start again.

Reminds me of when I first drove my wife's 2016 BMW X5. She had pulled it out of the garage and left it running. So I jumped in and off I went. It was the first vehicle I had ever driven with the push button start/stop. When I pulled up to the liquor store, I threw it in park, then hit the button to stop the engine. All good. When I finished my shopping and hopped back in, I pushed the button repeatedly but the engine wouldn't start. After about 10 minutes of scratching my head, I had to do the unthinkable and call my wife to ask what I was doing wrong. She laughed, and said "put your foot on the brake and push the button". I had no idea the brake was involved in the starting process. Ha.

if you do the neutral shut off method, you only get about 20 mins of power on time before the master shutoff will turn the truck off. toyota has a built in master timer for power that will sense power draw and auto shutoff to conserve the battery.

As others have said, once you stop just hit the off button before shifting out of drive, then throw it into park after the engine is off. ACC will stay on, and one more press of the ignition will shut it off.

New to the forums, don’t know if this is the right place for this. When you do the regular accessory mode, by turning it back on without the brake depressed, does your check engine light come on and stay on?
