Iv ownd a 2020 tundra for about a year now and I have had multiple instances where I got the finger, honked at and shouted at buy guys in trucks, actually f150s to be exact. (No its not because I'm a bad driver)
I'm up in Michigan where folks are proud of the big three, so I don't know if it's just a truck stigma or what.
Up here Tundras are so rare we wave at each other when we pass kinda like the jeep guys.
I was wondering if anyone else has experience hostility from Ford guys.

I can’t say it’s ever happened to me… most Ford drivers I encounter are on the side of the road with their hoods up, so maybe that’s why…lol

Nothing here. I get treated just like I'm any other driver on the road.

Have you verified you don't run with your brights on 24/7?

What are they shouting at you?

I get treated like any other driver, aside from the odd nod or wave from a fellow Tundra owner.

No honking or middle finger waving. Mostly compliments from people. And none of them call it a tacoma like they do my first gen.

No high beams on or anything. And the truck is 100% stock, Yesterday I actually was shouted at passing a guy in a f150.
Just a quick scream, nothing verbal.
Which led me to ask a question.
My wife and I went down to Tennessee back in May and there's tundra's everywhere It was definitely strange compared to what I'm used to.

Nothing here in NW Pa.. There are plenty of Tundras here and I occasionally wave to other CM owners. Is that weird?

Pick-up envy. That has to be it. I sold my last F-150 after it broke down twice within 2 weeks and I had to have it towed back to the dealership - twice. The second breakdown was a fuel module. Coincidently, my 2012 Tundra just quit on me two weeks ago for a similar fuel problem. The difference to me was, the Tundra had the problem at 177,000 miles while the F-150 had the problem at 87,000 miles.

I don't get those reactions in my area. I live in a rural area on the Ohio-PA stateline and I see more Tundras and Toyotas in general in my rural area -I'm guessing because of Toyota reliability where travel distances tend to be greater. Or, like me they've been burned by buying from the Big Three in the past.

Haven't experienced that yet in the northeast. Lotsa folks are brand loyal and hardcore buy merica (which I agree with in most cases where I can), but I like to think both our Subaru and Tundra were assembled in the US and employeed American workers.

I bought for reliability and resale value. I've been a GM truck guy, but Toyota does it better. What sold me was when Toyota threw a new frame in my buddy's 2008 Tacoma in 2019. That level of customer service is unheard of in the big 3.

Lol that is such a misleading statement. He lives in the mitten I'm assuming where they do take extreme pride in their building of domestic vehicles because of the factories. I live in Wiscansin where there is no such stigma around what vehicle you drive. :p:p:p:p

I'm in the south and aside from a few comments about needing a "real truck", no not really. And those are usually followed shortly after by "yeah this is my second transmission and third engine in 100k miles".

Here in southern AZ there are a LOT of Toyotas. I see Tundras and Tacos all over the place.

It's the people in the little beaters that seem to have road rage. Then again, if I had to drive in the heat without AC, it might affect my brain too!

Nothing here in NC. There's a lot more insanely jacked up and obnoxiously loud GM, Ford, Dodge, and a lot of just nicely done ones, but there are a few Tundras done the same, and no Tundra hostility.
It may be there, but it can't get through my firewall of Tundra love.

You live around lots of douchebags or are a worse driver than you think.

The rare unprovoked hostility I've felt around me in traffic seems to come
From people in small vehicles offended by the size of trucks around them on the road.

TX is truck country and since Tundras are made here...well, there are plenty.

Ever since we landed here in Ohio (Cleveland area), I've only seen one Tundra. Crazy.

I would guess it's because Ford and Chevy are headquartered in Michigan and alot of people aren't mentally mature.. or someone put a buckeye sticker on your truck and you haven't noticed it yet.

Out here in Colorado it’s the land of Tundras, people with F1shitties are usually the ones on the receiving end of the BS.

This used to be a thing where people disliked foreign vehicles due to their loyalty to American brands that supported the local economy. Since the Flint fiasco and offshoring I assumed this died down.
