Just what my neighbor did to his 2000 Tundra. Not really what I would choose. But is different
The wheels are the Common dark hyper but with chrome center caps.

I mean....can't say I noticed the centercaps (and I just refinished a set of those wheels in a graphite color).....what's up with that two tone paint job?

Was the straight dark green oem when I sold it to him. He just bought and added those new refurbished wheels.

Fair enough, looks like it's missing a forest ranger dept crest or something like that. Looks like a great truck, just not my style.

Still looks better than a 3rd gen.
But the scoop behind the rear tires worries me.

Yes, not exactly what you would expect from a retired special forces officer.
Mine may look boring to some driving by our houses. Next door.

If it showed up in the pic. The stick on paint to match hood scoop, may have worried you more.
But he really is a great guy and good friend. We just have different taste.

Hopefully your neighbor doesn't see this thread. He would re-think that color choice rather quickly.

I might do something similar if i ever need to paint one of my motorcycles. Theft deterrent, and probably sticks out in crowded parking lots.

That is a super clean, amazing looking truck. I hate it, but the cool thing is that we all have different tastes - and if I was into what he has going I'd be pumped.

It's been my experience people who make bold choices like this frankly DGAF what other people think. :D

This is so not my style it isn't funny. Had it just been all blue, that would've been alright, but the bumper plastic matching the top versus the bottom, bad choice for my eyes. The bottom color looking like a manila folder with vibrant over, bad choice for my eyes. The silly looking front accent panel, bad choice for my eyes.

But that's just it, it's not for my eyes. I hate it, but I respect the owner for doing WTFever they felt they wanted to see, and I hope they're happy. I personally don't like the 2-tone look on these trucks. There's only been one OEM 2-tone paint scheme I've liked. I suspect I'd hate the tail lights also.

I feel almost like they were going for that F150 look.

Is new oem tail lights and the truck is very clean with 125K. Was just the base model V6. Except I add power windows when I owned it.

Weird. Looks like a side view of something like these, which were so popular to put on Blazers and F150s in the 90s.

I think you are right, sorry. He must have changed them. Right next door but cant say I pay much attention to the truck anymore. Whenever we talk I always encourage sticking with OEM. You can see how well that has worked for me.

Funny you mention that. He has always been a huge FORD fan. His car is a 2003 Mustang he added a turbo charger to. For years we debated back and forth. I have always been toyota/lexus.

Thought I would finally convert him over when I sold him this old Tundra. This is what I get for my effort to do so.
But even his trusted long time ford mechanic told him his Tundra is built like a tank. And one of the best engines and trucks ever made. He also gets the Tundra serviced at the ford dealership.
And of course the 2 different colors. Are both paint codes he picked off some other fords on the ford dealers lot.

I understand. Since if you own a ford, you have to expect to spend a lot of time at the service department.

This is exactly what I was picturing with my F150 comment above. I tried finding pics but came up short. Like, this dude literally tried to recreate an F150 lookalike that's 3x more reliable than a Ferd.

Basically Ironman has the one I'm talking about. Actually, I've seen two silverish-grey-metallic 2 tones I liked in the past, but not sure if it was factory.
