So on todays date i had taken my tundra into my local Toyota dealership whom ive always had a great relationship with along with excellent service. Not only did i schedule my oil change a week ago but i waited 2 1/2 hours after working my "A" line shift watched some retarded guy drive my truck through the drop off bay 3x, for what i have no clue, and when i finally get home and get some sleep. I wake up to pick up my daughter and noticed the truck has oil stains on driveway floor. Truck has 0 leak issues prior to this service. Let me guess the goon squad works tuesday and i got shafted lol. Toyota atleast is doing the right thing and will look into this. I just needed to vent my frustration.

I bought mine and had a list of things when I took it back I wanted them to look at. Oily spot on steering rack case. They brought it back out and went through the items and I asked them about the steering rack to make sure it wasn't leaking. Oh no, no problems. When they changed the oil before I bought it wasn't wiped down. I just shook my head and looked at him sideways that it left the bay that way. I'll be doing my own changes.

I had the same issue after my last oil change. Boneheads forgot to replace the gasket with the drain plug.

Update... well they didnt tighten the oil plug completely i actually could move it with my hand and i had to tighten the filter housing. The general manager called me personal after i called the service desk. He will be giving me another oil change and having them detail the complete engine after i explained ive already completed the task for him. He was persistent on rectifying the problem and stated that he will be dealing with the mechanic and the guy that was driving my truck in circles. He actually put me a little at ease but once i move to the new house ill be completing my own oil changes again.

A friends dad took his Chevy van to the dealer for an oil change prior to a trip to Colorado. Got to Colorado and the engine locked up. Had it towed to a dealer. No oil in truck. The dumbaxxes didn't tighten the drain plug and it made it 500 miles till it fell out. Chevy did replace the engine but not the way to start a vacation.

Said this a bunch before - but they don't put their sharpest techs on oil changes. I do my own work unless I am physically unable, that way I only have myself to blame if it is effed up.

I did my own maintenance on my Ford and was going to give it up with the Tundra...now you’re making me rethink that decision. I’m tired of crawling under the truck, but if it keeps me from having to inspect their work then I might have too.

Took my car into dealer (VW) for some work and they screwed something up and offered me a "free" oil change. I thought what the heck so I took it back at the next oil change interval and let them do it. Got it home and oil was WAY above top mark on stick. I called the service manager and complained but he just wanted to give me another "free" oil change for my trouble. That was the last time I ever took it to them ... Do my own oil changes and most of my own service on my vehicles. Just don't trust the goof-balls they hire at dealers now.

I'm glad it the oil level didn't get dangerously low before you noticed.

I used to work at a Toyota dealership and even though we had good guys there, sh*t happens.

I was a valet and I absolutely accidentally backed a customer's vehicle into a sign, right in front of them. Now, our rule was to put out movable metal signs after close, however a new guy decided after dark but before close that he would put the signs out sideways so people couldn't read them, without telling anyone. Yeah, well you couldn't see them because they had a black frame and were only about 1" thick.

I'm sure I looked like an idiot to the customer, but when you literally back cars in different spots in all day and after dark a black movable metal sign is put in a spot sideways without your knowledge, it's going to happen. Obviously the dealership had to give them a loaner, fix the damage, free detail, some free service, as they deserve. I would be pissed if someone did that with my truck.

Things will happen everywhere, it's how they handle it after they happen that is important IMHO.

Those Tech's would have to answer phone calls, pages, assist other techs, and they aren't perfect. They get side tracked occasionally just like we all do.

Sorry that happened! As for the dude taking joy rides, yeah, I don't know about that, haha.

And oh, I do my own oil changes, haha. The less people that touch my truck the better.

Im actually happy how concerned the manager was when he got wind of my experience. He seemed sincere and even realized how good of a customer i was.

That's a good thing. They don't want to see that happen, but yeah, the tech messed up and should have double checked everything.

The only reason i ever let the dealership do the service on my truck is because a guy on here is a mechanic there and he let me come back and watch. If i cant watch the service then its not happening. I do my own now since they overcharged me. We are talking $135 for an oil change on the Tundra and that was the first one after the Toyota Care ran out.
